Yea man, the concentric emphasis routine, it'll straight kill you!!! That shit will make you so hungry too, I've literally packed on 15 lbs of mass since doing it over the past 5-6 weeks, yea some bf% but def putting my size back on!!

Yea i did chest yesterday and was so pissed I could never hit upper chest good. I did the usual incline chest angle and it is to high tilited. So I tried the lower one like in your vid. It was exactly what I needed. Then I was like fuck it since he was right about that I might as well try his slow movement. I did slow movements 5-7 seconds(Your video might have been ten) both ways eccentric and concentric. It was amazing I did 65 per dumbbell and it was brutal got 10,9,8 so I hit 75's and got 5. I couldn't do anymoe for incline. It's amazing, I am going to do that every time for a month or two until my body gets used to it. I did all my movements each exercise after that. I finally feel sore today(The day after) I stopped feeling sore for a while. It shocked my body nice.
Do you do that for all exercises? I usually did 3 second phases. How many seconds did you show in that vid. 10?

In all honesty it's probably about 7-8 seconds because I'm counting to 10 in my head, which is probably a faster count than a stopwatch count. I will do this on the last set of an exercise for ALMOST every exercise. Exceptions would be deadlifts, wide grip pullups, bent over rows, and squats. For back I WILL do a 10 sec pull with a pulldown machine or a row machine, but you def have to put the mind in the muscle or it'll tax the fucking shit out of your biceps too much before back. A slight lean back on a pulldown motion helps keep the bi's out of it more. As for leg presses, oh what a humbling experience. Put it this way.....I don't even fuck with the leg sled, I get everything I need out of the Nautilus pin loaded machine that maxes out at just 400 lbs. My quads will be shaking after about 6-8 reps w/ 400 lbs, I'm talking shaking like you're brand new to working out again!! This is the machine where the platform does not move, but the seated backpad does, and it's pin loaded. Humbling to say the least!!!

ahh, the good ol' days of big walkmans in the gym and $2 singles we would wear out in 3 days. Remember BMG & Music House? You could order like 20 cassette tapes and then your parents would get the bill? LOL, those were the days!!
Why yes yes I do :)

My first cassette tape was Metallica: And Justice For All
I got it from a share page hung up in the local music store. That's how that music got around then. Metallica was the first and only band to sell 1 million without any airtime. That shit rocked my world

Want to say I'm feeling your videos. Good stuff there. I like your philosophy with saving the hardest exercise for last as in your shoulders video. I noticed you said you opt'd against AC joint surgery and rehabbed it yourself.

What exercises did you use to rehab your shoulders?

Did you take time off after the shoulder injury?

How long before you were >75% back to normal?

I'm dealing with a slap tear now and have recently decided against surgery. Taking the PT / steroid inject route.

Also, anyone able to get the book yet? I can't seem to find it on kindle or Amazon.
It's not on Amazon, you need to purchase from the website(johndoebodybuilding.com). I'm offering a black Friday sale for both of the books, 20% of "Straight from the Underground" and with that purchase you can get "Becoming the Bull" for an additional 50% off. thanks

I stopped overhead pressing PERIOD for about 6-8 months, I only did light side lateral raises. I stopped front raises as well. For my chest I had to stop doing heavy barbell or Db work and stick to mostly pressing machines, keeping my arms very close to my ribcage on pressing and going lighter weight for higher reps. Usually sets were 20+ rep range and I focused more on pumping the delts up than really heavy training. I'd say it took 8 months before I was back at 100%, and when I came back I NEVER once again did shoulder presses as heavy as I used to. Even today, I rarely even go to 90 lb dumbbells and back in the day when I had impingement's it wasn't uncommon for me to use 130's for shoulder presses.

I would rehab it as best as you can, physical therapy isn't a bad idea. You won't lose shit dude, just keep up with your food intake and train around the injury. Adapt and overcome my friend, good luck!!
