Bulgarian Method (Powerlifting)

Just started this myself
Westside is the only methodology I have had experienced where I made strength gains AND not injure or strain myself. It is the most effective method that I have had with athletes across multiple sports. I think the beauty of westside is its conjugated approach (speed, accommodating resistance, the reverse hyper, maximal periodization, dynamic work, etc) and gains in GPP. It gives most type of athletes a very good base to specialize with. Plus squatting with chains and bands makes training sessions awesome.

We were just talking about chains and bands in the powerlifting thread. I havent used any in awhile. But the template looks solid. And because you make changes every so often it shouldnt get stale.

Im kind of playing with it for the next 2 weeks and planning on starting a log in the new years. With your experience your .02 would be greatly appreciated.

I did Bulgarian for 10 weeks. Worked out twice per day, squat, DL and bench every day. Injury risk kept low, finding the daily minimum was key. Had great results, but was difficult to fit all the training into daily life

I bet it was difficult! Especially doing deadlifts everyday. As long as it worked well for you then it's all good bro :)

It was good man. Struggled with getting 350 off the ground when I started, and grind out 420 now 6 months later.

My bench is still at plateau though, whether I go 7 times a week or 1.

Will get back on Bulgarian in the spring, can't wait :-)

I tried it, it didn't work. Wiser now, some analysis will show why it was a waste of 6 months: I'm not a Bulgarian weightlifter who gets a government subsidy that allows me to train 8 hours a day and do nothing else.
