that's the shotguns you see why I think I have a hoarding issue .

sounds more like a storage solution issue to me...You're safe among friends now, you gotta utilize your support network :D

I've had three Glocks, don't like them. Crappy pull, even my 17L didn't feel right. And the mag release is not confidence inspiring either. Nope, not for me.
I was keepin my mouth shut on that one, you can abuse em but I don't own a single one anymore...I've been getting cozy with Kimber/SIG for a few years now, Kimbers are a lil picky with ammo. HK if you got the $$$.

1911 ...Springfield/Colt/Kimber or a Rock IA can get it done affordably.

I've been on the fence about an HK45 for a little while now. I just have a hard time believing it's going to be 2x as good as my berettas(PX4) or Walther P99, being that it's twice the price.

Also, I'd put those guns against a block, I mean Glock, any day, all three have thousands of rounds through them and not a single malfunction of any kind

The compact?
http://hk-usa.com/hk-models/hk45-compact/

Surprisingly heavy - 29oz

HK magic always costs....

For the money, wouldn't it be better to set up another gun properly, or buy a Kimber etc?
All comes down to what you like man. I like glocks, I like HKs, I like colts, I like Kimbers, I like M&Ps, I like a lot of guns lol. If I had my choice of a "race gun" though, I would probably have an Infinity firearms 1911 built.

In typical TEK fashion..Imma bout to get highly opinionated and over analytical
There is always the perfect tool, once you can clearly define the parameters of the work entailed.

For a full size .45 SIG and HK are gonna run you the same $$$ IOP factory new. Cunt hair's difference in performance imo, HK trigger is longer factory. The difference for me is I want alloy, no buts about it. (Throwing the P99 in here is apples to oranges)

Compact? I'd go .40.... Although I have a strong affinity for the SIGs weight is a high priority for me CC. Sig has some polys out there, but here is where I think if you got the $$$ the HK could be a frontrunner. When you look at the USP vs the P99 you notice the USP has the lighter factory pull, metal sights, seamed steel magazines, (and the safety which I guess may be a pro for the cc user that is concerned about one in the pipe.) Is it 2x "as good" as the P99?

Hasn't proven it to me personally. I'd still rather save the $ up front and send the walther in for work.

what kind of work have you had done to your P99?

Walther has the PPQ in .45 now and I was looking at that as an alternative to the HK. I do prefer the paddle style mag release over the button so that's a bummer but im sure i can live with it

Had my 9-year old daughter and some of her friends try out my old airgun yesterday - it's a Feinwerkbau with a hair trigger - she did well. Had to sit down of course, it's too heavy. She kept a nice and tight cluster. Proud father moment!

Anyone have any experience with the SIG 556xi? Or any other modular rifles that can be converted from 5.56 to 7.62? I like the idea that you can have 2 calibers (3 if you want to go with the 300 blackout) in one rifle and convert to an SBR

Wasn't aware of this one, looked it up and it looks like a cute idea but seems difficult to live with. Swap uppers on an AR and you remain sighted in, swap barrels etc on the SIG and you have to sight it in again. That gets old.

Also, it's not the "real" 7.62x51 - it uses the Russian 7.62x39. Why bother?

I think I'd rather have one .223 and one .308 rifle, all good to go, no fiddling. I don't believe in that Black & Decker approach to guns.

Yea, I figured the sighting would be a problem.

On side note, I shot a friends Springfield SOCOM. That's a nice .308, didn't want to shoot much more than 20 rounds though, it's a beast for sure
