I think all of us together could take him!!!!That's crazy,he that look way to easy. Now I'm trying to figure out what increments those plates are....50lb plates, and a hundred pound bar?
Hmmm, now that's got me thinkin. Since the record was initially set on a straight bar, I for one think every attempt at matching or breaking the record should he done on a straight bar as well. Jus my .02Extremely impressive but I don't think it should be put up with Eddie hall who did his world record on a stiff regulation bar. It's a feat of strength not many have ever done but the length and flex of that bar do help him and I think there would be a dozen more guys in the 1000 pound deadlift club with a bar like that. This is me being mad jelly I could never attain that lol

I gotta admit I don't know what to think about that bending bar... Don't want to take anything away from him cause I'm a fan. The plates look stacked on the ends of the bar to increase the bend more as well. But this is also no competition and I don't know for sure when the video was shot. Might be training for the Arnold next week.
6'8"....440lbs.....
I knew a guy who was 6'8" 180lbs... can't eBen imagine another 300 lbs on him.
I was going to ask about the bar. I know nothing about powerlifting... I just learned I've been powercleaning on the wrong bar for years.
Why is it so far out there with the weights on the end, what is the advantage to this?
Regardless, he still lifted 1,001lbs from the ground to standing pretty damn fast.
10-15 people, and 1 deadlift ing bear** that can do thatAdvantage is he got essientially 4" of flex in the bar before the weight left the ground putting his body in a more advantageous position to pull more weight. Same reason deadlift is easier off of blocks and you can rack pull more then you can deadlift less travel = less force and energy required. But yes it still is crazy weight to stand tall with even if it was a block pull or rack pull or with a none regulation set up, there still is only 10-15 other people on the planet that could do that no deadlift suit
That bear is one bad ass mofo. I mean jus look at that straight bar bend10-15 people, and 1 deadlift ing bear** that can do that![]()
Awesome to watch...period. I do think there needs to be at least a little consideration of lift:bw ratio. 1000lb deadlift is bananas, but @440lbs that's 2.27xBW. So @220lbs that would equate to 500.....Extremely impressive but I don't think it should be put up with Eddie hall who did his world record on a stiff regulation bar.
