Good ol' push-ups

hey this probably won't be for the guys that just want to bench 450x5, but llet's hear people's pushup challenges. diamonds, 1arm, etc. whatever you want, others try to beat you at your own game. be honest!

I'll get the ball rolling... 325 normal good form pushups in an hour. try to beat me, or post your own frequency, type,I'll try to beat you...e.g. consecutive nonstop, or whatever upside down.

also sorry if there's already a thread like this, I'm still fairly new, I like pushups

my 325 in an hour were sets of 20 to 30 after bench pressing 180-230 a bunch of times

162 in 2 minutes is my record. I got 91 in the first minute.

I wasn't really counting, but I did well over a thousand Pushups between 9am and 11am Monday through Friday for about 3 weeks straight.
Oh the good ol days....

And during that 2 minute test a few push ups weren't counted because I wasn't "completely locking out" form was very strict in order to be counted.

When I spent 10 1/2 months in county jail I regularly did 1000-1500 in a day. I think around 2000-2500 was my record for an entire day. We played hearts for push ups, 50 per hand and literally played all day, every day.

We eventually added dips, sit ups, squats and pull ups. I was doing an obscene amount of calisthenics every day. 99 is the most push ups I've ever done in one set.

500 in 1 hour as a challenge proposed at work, there was a reward to whom could complete it and I most definitely saw my reward. 3000 in one day is as much as I've done, I was in one of them training situations where punishment was push ups and we screwed up hard that day.

Thats how I spent my time in jail too Perrin ;) thousands of dips/push-ups/chins and BW squats . Only one other guy would consistantly workout with me , the others just watched TV and slept . Alot of years ago...

Nowdays I do inverted push-ups on v-bars after my benches on somedays. Also dips after inclines or supersets between the two.

locked up before gym access-1000 pushups, 1000 sit ups, 1000 curls, 1000 dips every day. this was after my car crash so I later kited medical and got permission to go to the gym with every unit, not just my unit. 4 units= 4 gym hours + whatever I could get away with in the unit.

All the push ups and dips paid off. First day in the prison gym I benched 185x4 having not touched a barbell in almost a decade. Squat was about the same and deadlift was 245x3 the very first time. I could do 23 pull ups straight and 40+ bodyweight dips at that time.

Yeah, I read a ton. I didn't even bother buying a television even though I had the money. I just went to the library as often as possible and had my family sending a steady supply of books.

Haha yup! Packing and unpacking bags in short time hacks. Doing pushups, flutter kicks, and jumping lunges.

I sound like a pussy next to some of u guys, but me and friend would alternate doing pushups start at 20, then 19, then 18, and so one till we got till 1. comes out to 210 pushups in total. rest in between sets was only as long as it took for him and I to finish the current set.

eventually, I got these lifeline pushup bands that would hold 3 bands. hard as fuck, till this day I can't do 1 push up with the heaviest setting. i just end up lying on the floor pushing earth till I damn near shit myself. maybe guys that bench 400-500 lbs can do it. but I digress, so you bang out sets 20 through 15 with a light setting on the push up bands, 14 through 10ish on a heavier setting, and the single digits sets on the heaviest setting possible. those 5, 4, 3, 2, 1sets suck. its more a test of wills to see who's gonna drop out before getting to 1.

pushups are staple man, even if all you do is lift weights. do your normal chest routine, and then finish with 1 max set of pushups. good gage as to how thorough your chest day was, if you're banging out high max sets at the end of the day.

nother good one... 1 on the floor, stand up 1 against the wall, drop down 2 on floor stand up 2 on the wall, drop down 3 on the floor back up 3 on the wall, go till 20 on the floor 20 on the wall, then same counting back down to 1 and 1

I was an E5 for about 4 months, then I got an art 15 that knocked me down to e3. Whoops.
I think the worst was rasp... they counted about 30% of anything, and they added time to our 5 mile.

Damn. Adding time to a run is rough. That was usually the one thing that you got what you got.
