What R U Eating ? ~OGH wants to know.....

What kinda work ya do

Plumbers Union. I'm mostly a Welders Pimp but I work as a Plumber when I need to. Mostly Alteration work, Build outs on new buildings like the 1Wtc... So much work, double time. I use to work 60 hours a week. 35 hour regular week with 20-30 hours double time. Most of the time I sleep outside the job site/building after the night shift so I can get back to work on the day shift.

Finally back to meal prepping. Just basic bulk for lunch and pre workout. 2 days worth. 12 ounces of chicken, a fist full of sweet potato mash with chives and a little honey... That's it. Later I'll prep my egg white and grits for coffee break.. No sure how the grits will turn when they're cold... Hopefully they'll be edible but I'll see.

My dad was a member of the Plumbers and Pipefitters his whole life. Good money.

They don't make men like that anymore. I'm the last of the last of the Mohicans. I snap out Live cast iron stacks with shit and piss hitting my face... Roaches crawling up my shirt. Best job in the world.

They definitely don't. My dad died in 2014 at the age of 69, a lifetime of smoking and chemical exposure at work. When he was in his 50's he did eighteen months of 7/12's in a power plant without a day off with a two hour drive each way to work. Once had fluid drained from his elbow on his lunch break. He told me a lot of crazy stories from on the job all those years. Saw a lot of guys get killed on the job in horrible ways, had gunfights and brawls when companies tried to bring in non union guys. A different breed for sure.

Leftovers from my mom's bed and breakfast. Croissants turned into French toast, frittatas and bacon with veggies on the side.

image.jpeg My mom made Chili for Monday night... Please tell me what happens when you make chili the night before and you let it sit in the fridge?? It makes an even better chili. She is also going to make her special cheddar cheese/scallion corn bread to go with this... But I may forgo the cornbread.. We'll see.

And milk don't forget the milk!!! I always wanted a bed and breakfast.

They've been in the restaurant business a long time and they bought a large, old house next door to the restaurant about ten years ago and converted it into a bed and breakfast. My mom does all the cooking at the restaurant and takes it over to the people staying there. She does some of the cleaning and a retired woman that lives nearby does the rest. Seems like a pretty good business.
