If you know me personally, you'd know I'm a huge advocate for home gyms. With my lifestyle, and extremely busy schedule from march-Jan every year, I NEED a way to get my lifts in when I'm having one of those days where making it to the gym just isn't happening.
Benefits of a home gym:
•No waiting for anything!
•Shirt off with chalk!
•Blast your own tunes instead of wearing earbuds. Let the sound that drives you be heard!!
•YOU control the hours!
•Pre heat post workout meal during the last set!! I bet I get 2 meals into me before most of you are even home from the gym
Disadvantages:
•You'll never have a Golds Gym
•More beneficial to those with extensive knowledge of intuitive workouts.
•Can be very costly, but when you factor in gym membership costs, the gas you spend to get there and back all year, it may even out depending on your situation. Families benefit the most saving multiple memberships!
My equipment:
•AmStaff SD1050 Multi Squat Rack
•AmStaff TS010E Commercial bench
•AmStaff TT1002 Flat bench
•Approx 500lbs of Olympic Plates
•Northern Lights vertical plate tree
•VO3 Impulse series seated preacher
•2- 7' 45lb Olympic bars
•1- 4' 15lb Olympic straight bar
•1- 6' Olympic Bar
•2- 4' Olympic Ez Curl Bar ( Wide/Narrow )
•1 Olympic hammer curl bar
•Custom Floor gun rack for bars
•Northern Lights Vertical Dumbell Rack- holds 5lb-30lb rubber hex dumbbells
•Northern Lights 6' 2-Tier Dumbbell rack - hold 35lb-100lb rubber hex ( TKO Brand )
•Medicine Balls 3lbs-20lbs - racked vertically
•Double Barrel Land mine - have multiple grips and single hand "suitcase grip" for land mine that slides over the 2" piece of the bar with weights on top!
•Yukon Fitness "Chin-Dip-Leg Raise" captains station ( with push-up handles )
•Schwinn Exercise Bike
•Bosu ball
•Tons of foam rollers/Therapeutic items - all from Fitness Depot
3 48"x48" 1/8" frameless mirrors 34" up from the ground all around
•Canadian Tire special 1/2" grey textured foam interlocking floor ( works great!! Laid on top of Hardwood. )
•Few pix of Arnold to keep the blood pumpin'
Soon to come :
•Plate loaded quad extension machine - if I can fit it
•Lat pulldown - plate loaded
•Upgraded surround sound
•100lb punching bag
•AmStaff Cable cross over ( 12' wide )
Anybody else have a home set up?
I'm always up for new cool innovative ways to incorporate
more/better/different equipment! I'm getting limited for space, but don't mind replacing existing equipment with more useful pieces! Captains station is gone soon.
Anybody want to come lift??
