New Vehicle

Toyota,Nissan,Honda = made in US owned by Japanese company.
Ford,gm,dodge= made in Mexico,korea,China
Owned by US companies well not dodge really but whatever.
I can't fucking stand working for a company that builds a vehicle in China ships it here and pays their way out of the news.
I have come to appreciate a car that runs well and needs nothing other than an oil change every four to five thousand miles.

As far as made in America I couldn't give a f***. It's two way street. They have to make a quality product that works if they want to survive.

The Ford I have needs a $1,500 fix and Ford doesn't want to pay for it. Power steering keeps going out. How important is power steering?

It's the last American made car I will ever buy

I used to be a Chevy guy, but I couldn't afford it. The 97 Toyota Tacoma I have has 283000 miles on it and all I've done as far as repairs. I put a new radiator in it about a month ago.

Get into a brand loyalty argument with a gm,dodge or ford tech then mention Toyota.lol 99.9% of them have absolutely nothing bad to say about em. On a side note a Toyota tech I know said the new Tacoma motor was absolute shit and they're having total faliures at under 15k. but in their defense they seem to be scrambling for fixes and putting the customer first even buying back some trucks. I'm putting a lifter, push rod and valve spring in at least one 15+ truck or Tahoe with a direct injection v8 (5.3, 6.2). Something didn't get hardened properly during manufacturing. But not for long getting out of this shit warranty work has fucked me for the last time:D this is my last week as a gm tech:cool:

I wonder if the power wagon comes with it too? That would suck :(

There popular down here. Most i see dont even have a hitch on em.
Thats a $10,000 add on for the diesel. That buys alot of gas!
I do like it. But is completely overkill for most ppl. And so is the price!
Their out of control with the costs on these diesels.

Thats the best part!

Its out of control
I remember when a man could buy a truck for a fair price with some options and a decent amount of chrome as a base. Now every swinging dick owns a truck whether he needs it or not.
Thats why prices are so high. Demand shot thru the roof the last 2 decades. Back then you couldnt get most ppl to buy a pickup. Now its a "status" symbol. The truck has reached par with a sports car for desire among the wealthy.
Irritating.
It's crazy how many dudes around here have 12" lifts and 35"+ mud tires and never leave the paved road...

Or even have a transfer case. Its ONLY a southern thing to own some thing that worthless.
Or worse...hang truck balls off the back.
Ok Jethro. Your 2x4 lifted poser truck is cool and apparantly has ballz?
Not
Infact if your truck has plastic ballz hanging off the back i can tell already i dont like you

Whats MESOs opinion on the Tundra?

Its no secret. Im a long time fan of Chevy, Ford and Dodge. Said i would never own a 'Yota but as i get older i guess...never say never!

Start with what i like:

1) i like the iforce 5.7L. 32 valve dual overhead cam direct injection. Its a really nice setup. Forged crank shaft and forged rods. The cylinders are sleeved. Its overbuilt and i REALLY like that.
2) i like the 4.30 gears in the diff and i also like that big old ring gear they give you. Managed to outsize the one in my F150.
3)mechanically all around its solid!

What i dont like:

1)the interior is lagging behind anything from the big 3. Even the 1794 edition is nice. But not as nice as anything in the upper trim levels from the big 3. Outdated for sure.

2) the truck doesnt ride as civilized as the big 3. Unrefined

3) the 6 speed is now showing its age.

4) it says toyota on the grill

Those are my impressions i got. Any owners wanna chime in?

Drove a couple. Liked em. Never had to work on em. They feel more "torquey" down low than the Silverado.

That would probably be the 4.30 cogs. Lol
Also they warranty a TRD supercharger if you buy it from the dealer. About $6k with installation depending on how high they wanna mark it up. Full factory warranty. About 555hp:eek:

Interiors are for cars:mad: except the cooled seats I really like those:oops: Damnit a real man only needs manual windows, steering, trans, brakes, transfer case and a homeless guy to ride in the bed and squeegee the windshield when it rains.;)

When you pay as much as the newer trucks cost you want every damn option you can get so it doesn't feel like youre getting raped as hard as you really are.

Agreed. I got heated seats in my 'hoe. I dont use em. Now cooled seats? My back is abhorrent in the amount of sweat it generates during a drive. I mean fucking really...whos back sweats that damn much?!?!

Mustang GT is on my list as well.
Turns out its cheaper. WAAAAAY fucking cheaper than say a Lariat F150 or Z71 Silvy or a Ram 2500 tradesmen w/the cummins. All options im entertaining. Thats how ridiculous new truck prices have gotten

I've been wanting to get a newer diesel truck as well but I'll be damned if I spend 80k like my buddy just did getting a lifted f250...hell I've been wanted to get a new Camaro or srt8 charger but the way I'm figuring it is it'll be a lot cheaper to get a hyabusa.

Ive looked at a few new srt8 and a few 5.7's for mid 30k-mid 40k right now. IMO thats cheap. The stang GT falls about the same and has 460 hp!

A xlt f150 will run you high 40k...forget options. Options? Pshhhh
Thats another 8-15k
