Anybody get styes from gear ? .. lately I been getting styes ( it's like a pimple on your eyelid sometimes painful ) they seem to reaccuring now .. looks like I might finally bite the bullet and go to the dermatologist for acne meds ..

To get ride of a stye fast just use the eye wash stuff for contacts. ( I used to get them a lot when I wore contacts) and this is how I figured out the eye wash stuff for contacts will get rid of them fast.

But a stye is pretty much a abcess causeed by a certain bacteria. Can’t remember the name exactly but it’s stepha something or other and not really something acne medication will fix.

More than likely you are rubbing your eye with dirty hands which is causing the stye.

@Roger rabbit is right about this. In addition to this I use a clean/wet wash cloth and put it in the microwave. I get it as hot as I can stand it and do hot compresses on the eye. They’re usually gone by the next day.

Holy shit yea brother I have been getting them too...for the last year seems to be coming on alot was wondering if it has been gear related or what...ive finally haven't had one in about 3 months but fuck it got bad looked like damn Quasimodo... it' weird cuz I never used to get them. Fucking sucks I got the eyelid wipes and use it in the AM and before bed seems to be helping.

Most cases the bacteria are passed on by hand to hand or sharing towels etc.

I wouldn’t feel it could come from gear unless perhaps potentially the brewer is very unsanitary then somehow the bacteria gets passed along into the gear.

But I’m not an expert in that department of brewing and even if it was passed through the gear how it would affect just the eye would be beyond me.

Maybe just try washing the hands more frequently and try not to share towels... one thing I do notice at my gym is they have towels in a basket , one for clean and one for dirty... you are suppose to wipe the equipment off with this solution and towel but I see many wiping of their face with the towel. So if your gym does this and you do wipe you face this could be the cause.

The other cause that many don’t think about is while at the gym they rub their eyes, wipe face off with their hands and the dirty hands from the gym could have that bacteria.

I’d just highly recommend washing your hands properly more often and not just running under the water but actually washing for the 20 seconds under warm water with soap often.

I would also consider just getting eye rinse and washing eyes out 1 or 2 times daily.

But I highly doubt it’s from gear to be honest.

It's in range . I always let it get a tad bit high rather than low before I dose AI .. but never had a problem before using that nasty gear.. I feel like the gear was contaminated with bacteria giving me cystic Acne and styes .. I haven't used the stuff in months never had acne that bad from anything before

I had some gear that made me break out so bad it was nasty i got it locally along time ago

It’s hard not to do that when your girls is so fine you can’t keep your hands off of it. I literally can’t pass by that woman without grabbing a hand full of ass or shoving my hand down her pants.
