Meso UFC & MMA

Question for mma guys. What happened to leg locks? I seem to remember in the earlier days they were used but I rarely see them attempted anymore.

I can’t believe y’all are bouncing on daniel...stipe is so good, but I’m taking Daniel...ground and pounding for the win.

Ask Ryan Hall...he’s been looking for a fight for a couple years. The other leg lock guy that comes to mind got black balled? front the ufc...that Brazilian monster Palhermes. Probably spelled his name all fucked.

As for leg locks, I think you will probably see more of it in MMA in the next few years; it's become increasingly popular in top level BJJ guys - John Danaher being a big proponent of them and his gym and athletes have brought leg locks to a whole other level (Danaher Death Squad).

I remember the Shamrock brothers would use them. I just wasn't sure if it was a lost art kind of thing or just the evolution of mma and guys can defend them easier.

Garry Tonon is a bad mofo...leg locking mofo. He’s making his way in a lower org, but will be ready for ufc very soon.

Yup, ONE FC I think. I've heard arguments for why those less popular organizations are actually better at least $ wise for a lot of fighters (anyone who isn't a main card or ppv draw).

I stopped watching most UFC events, the odd match here and there catch my interest. Now we have Chuck and Tito fighting again like we need that.
