Subutex,suboxone

Crystallized methamphetamine

YEP!

The stuff not only depletes neurotransmitter stores, neuron connections but also destroys capactiance neurons whose primary function is dopamine restoration.

But there is a several month lag period before new axons and dendrites
sprout and several more months are required before neural integration approximates a users baseline. And worse yet some long term users never heal completely.

Its for these reasons many addiction experts have argued (with insurance carriers) Meth users warrant several months of IN-PATIENT therapy.

Nicotine was far more difficult than meth for me. Heroin was worse than both combined.

Same here. I used to do meth if someone had it or there were no pain pills or heroin around. A few pretty long benders on it, but when it was gone I just went to sleep and didn't care much about doing more. Never pawned anything for meth, can't say the same about heroin. Never was much of a speed freak though.

Meth sends me into the scariest form of psychosis ever. I cannot tell the difference between real or fake. I’m convinced piscas and sureñoes are after me. The shit is so fuccn toxic and scary I couldn’t imagine using it one more time. All it takes is one shot and I’m completely gone.

I used to snort it, I tried smoking it a couple times and I got real weird. Never tried shooting it, I would imagine it wouldn't have been good.

I read because of what it does to the brain and neurotransmitters it can leave long term users in state of permanent depression, which makes sense that it would be difficult for long term users to quit

I've gotten like that a few times, lol. Full blown hallucinations about people trying to set me up. Used to know a guy that even the smallest amount of meth and he'd be seeing S.W.A.T teams in the trees and cameras everywhere. Pretty much impossible to hang out with when he was high.

Any drug withdrawal can cause depressive symptoms months upon cessation

Of course but I remember reading that the depression can last years and decades later or basically indefinitely. I remember reading about a couple people that were no longer able to feel joy 10-20 years post methamphetamine. Not sure how heavy one has to use to suffer like this

When I kicked suboxone I wasn’t right for about a year. After the physical withdrawal symptoms were gone (6 months) the depression, vertigo sensations, anxiety, insomnia, etc lasted well over another 6 months for me. I had a really hard time defeating it. I didn’t care though, I was so sick of being a slave to pharmaceuticals I was willing to to do anything to break off the chains. Been 8-9 years

Question in this case is if the depressive state wasnt present beforehand, as a mood disorder is a common way to enter substance abuse disorder

I tried meth a few times and thought it was to good and I knew I will be addicted in a matter of time. Never did it again. The best kick I did was when I took 40 sub stripes with me to prison to kick heroin. I ended up selling 38 of them. If you use sub for just a week its wayyy easier. But I came off once after a year on sub and I rather kick heroin all day over sub.

I’ll never forget suboxone wds. I’ll take oxy wd any day of the week. I wasn’t right for about 12-14 months after the suboxone. Physical wds lasted like 3-4 months. Then the vertigo and emotional shit including brain zaps lasted like 6-8 months.

I don’t want to make you nervous because everyone is different but for me, I’ll take going off heroin or oxy cold turkey any day compared to suboxone. H and O is a few weeks of misery. Suboxone took me about 12-14 months to finally feel normal. The first 3 months were agony of a withdrawal that just seemed to intensify as the weeks went on. Relentless is the word.

At the time it was still the tablets so (1) 8 mg pill would last me about 7 days. So I was on 1mg or so a day for about 3 years when my doctor was prescribing me fucking 24mg per day.

Non of these doctors know the long term effects of these drugs they prescribe

i hear that, brother. The withdrawal from subs was worse than the withdrawal from the painkillers. Brutal.

Many years ago, a friend of mine was told by his doctor that "Suboxone isn't addictive and the withdrawal is all in your head".
