Hey everyone, so having a real hard time getting in these calories for a cutting cycle. Was wondering if i would be fine using almond skim milk with the instant maple brown sugar oatmeal?

I tried plain oatmeal every way including in my shake and cant really chug it down. Tried this maple brown sugar oatmeal and it was great with milk...

Nutrition on this oatmeal is 180 cal, 12g sugar, 2.5 fat

Will the sugar be a major problem? And i plan to use almond milk in my protein shake if thats fine ... think it has about 6g sugar

Thanks for the help

Cutting cycle and can’t get in calories?!?!

Try grits or cream of wheat/rice

Well not really getting the calories in... honestly first time strictly dieting so body is in a crash and i feel im not eating enough to keep the muscle mass atleast

What's your entire diet? Knowing what makes up 10% of your calories isn't going to do much.

Drop the oatmeal and replace it with something else that's easy to eat.

Not many guys can actually do oatmeal... It's just too heavy. Although, it's unusual to not be able to get it down during a cutting phase.

With all that said, yes... Use almond milk if you like.

And lethargy is very common during a cut. You’re putting your body through a controlled starvation which is what causes your body to eat away your fat. What helps me is to drop calories over time instead of picking a set number of calories to cut with and dropping from 4,000 calories to 2,000 calories. That’s also not efficient unless it’s a mini 4 week cut or something of the like.

Throw that instant oatmeal and its processed sugar in the trash. Mix oats, almond milk, blueberries and cinnamon. No need to cook the oats, just mix it all together and enjoy. If you have time, throw it in the fridge for 30min. Almost like a dessert.

Heres a quick overlook on my diet at the moment... sorry didnt get detailed with the macros.. still a newbie at dieting

Meal 1: drink 1 small egg white carton (says 50g protein but idk if thats cooked suppose to be 9egg whites)

Meal 2: ground turkey or beef with 1/2 cup rice + veggies

Meal 3: 4-6oz of chicken with 1/2 cup rice

Meal 4: 25g protein shake with almond milk

Meal 5: either chicken or steak with veggies

Meal 6: 25g protein shake with almond milk and 1/2 cup oatmeal

I throw in an apple and banana in between sumwhere lol

Yea bro the crash is real , also just started a cycle of test p, tren a, and mast p so trying to lose the bodyfat asap so i can clean bulk

I can only do quick oats, idk if u tried them but they are easier on me

For me when dieting I remove as much sugar as I can, if I need some sweet I'll put the appropriate amount of honey or aguave nectar or even stevia

Are you trying to have your oats in meal 1? If so, in a blender mix 1 cup liquid egg whites, one scoop whey, 1/2 cup quick oats. It'll taste good and be a very easy way to put the oats down

You're doing a good job btw
Youll have to accept feeling like a zombie if you want to get shredded tho

Only if it meets your protein requirements

I use cream of rice with sugar fee syrup mixed in for taste. It doesn't take much to make things taste better. It has 20 calories comprised of 8 grams of sugar alcohols which is negligible IMO as it's never stopped me from achieving low single digit bf%.

You ever work with skip for contest prep?

What are your thoughts on regular weekly refeeds?

I've never used a coach for show prep for myself except for some ideas for the peaking specific to me on the last week. I do get sent the protocols of some coaches and asked my opinion after the fact though so I've seen a lot of crazy stuff. I like to keep it pretty simple.

IMO, re-feeding is super specific to the individual. Their contest history (last time they competed), current condition, history of condition achieved in previous preps and so on.....it's a long list.

For some it's absolutely required, for some it's useful but not required, for some it's a tool for motivation but not ideal and for some it's just not an option if they want a shot in Hell of looking decent unless they're willing to diet for 6-8 months.

63E05BE5-1245-45EC-B372-7B96A0D871B2.jpeg 12g of sugar for a 1/4 cup of oats, fuck that! The key to oats is blending them in a GOOD blender. I drink 1 cup of oats in my post wo shake and another 1/2 cup blended with my casein night time shake. Oh, and peanut butter in everything. I eat 10 Tbls a day, 1000 cals, o_O Drinking eggs is fucking gross!!

Also almond mike has zero nutritional value. I use silk protein milk. It has a 10g of protein per cup, more protein then dairy milk.
