Kratom anyone?

Anyone here take Kratom? I do. Practically saved my life and my gains lol. I was drinking a handle of vodka a day at one point about 4 years ago. All while cycling too. So stupid.
All my numbers were elevated to the point the doc said I would be put on BP meds and cholesterol meds. Liver values were high to. So I started looking for something and found kratom. I figured I would give it a try, thinking it wouldn't do a thing. First time I tried it I dumped my vodka down the drain. And haven't drank since. I lost 37lbs and gained abs. Just by stopping the drinking and taking Kratom.

It can be addictive and withdrawals can be pretty bad. But I only use it on weekends and if it's during the week 1 to 2 times a day at the most. And I use a small amount.

But if u haven't tried it and are struggling with any kind of addiction. TRY IT! Ive read people stopping a heroin addiction by using it. HEROIN!!! I also had a buddy that was a 10 plus year Oxy addict. I convinced him to try Kratom and said what's the worse that happens? It doesn't work and u go back to Oxy. So he did and 2 weeks later he came back to me and said .....dude I haven't taken or even thought about pills since u gave me Kratom.
It's good stuff. Don't believe the FDA propaganda and the "deaths" because of Kratom. EVERY single death related to Kratom that they have claimed.....all had other hard drugs in their system. Benzos. Heroin. Oxy..... But they blame the Kratom. It's all a scam to ban it cause big pharma wants it banned so they can keep getting people hooked on their drugs.

Feel free to ask me anything if u are interested in trying it. I also know a few good sites to buy it from for cheap. DO NOT buy it from head shops. It's garbage and way too expensive. Can get a 250g bag for $25 online. Where as a 28g bag is $25 in headshops and is garbage quality.

So whats difference between curing an addiction and switching abuse from one substance to another?

True. And I get your point. But Kratom is far less harmful to your body than alcohol, pain pills and heroin.

Many people say it's just switching one addiction for the next. Which I can completely agree with. But I'm not addicted to Kratom as I have gone weeks without taking it with no issues. But like I said it IS addictive if u overdo it. But hell anything is addictive.....even sugar.

I'm not addicted like I said but I would much rather be addicted to a plant that give u a mild sense of well being and energy. VS all the calories in the vodka that I was drinking and literally destroying my body with. When I had my physical after stopping drinking and started Kratom all my numbers return to normal ranges.

As long as you keep in mind theres a risk for it to evolve into something bigger

Oh totally I know there is a risk. I've done a ton of research about it. There's a couple subs on Reddit about it. And one is about people taking waaaaay too much and trying to stop. But it's all about moderation. And I've been able to stick to keeping my doses moderate with Kratom. Where as with alcohol I would drink and keep drinking.

Kratom doesn't get you anywhere near as "high" as the articles that are anti Kratom say it does. Kratom is basically a mild euphoric and sense of well being and energy. It just improves your mood. And actually if you take too much you will puke it up and get the "wobbles" which are terrible and basically disphoria....where u feel like absolute shit. It's basically impossible to OD on. They recently figured out the LD50 and u would have to take somewhere around like 2kg of it to die.....2kgs would have u puking way before u would be able to consume that much when the standard dose is about 2 teaspoons.

The one thing I’ve seen multiple times is that it works great. Just don’t try and stop taking it. Your body goes into serious withdrawals similar to coming off heroin. I have no experience just what I’ve read. Be carful.

This isn't correct. Heroin withdrawal can be deadly. Kratom withdrawal MIGHT make you a little restless. It's similar to caffeine withdrawal actually.
Not what I have read. It’s different for everyone I would imagine. It’s definitely more than ”a little restless” from many users.

Symptoms can include: extreme fatigue, achiness, RLS (restless leg and arm syndrome), uncontrollable body temperature with heat waves, sweating, and cold chills, nausea, diarrhea, headaches, sneezing, yawning, depression, anxiety, and cravings.

Hardly comparable to not having your morning coffee.

the http://www.oasas.ny.gov/AdMed/FYI/kratomfyi.cfm (NY OASAS) reports. In this sense, kratom withdrawal may therefore be similar to opioid withdrawal. The DEA reports that the following symptoms may be observed:

  • Runny nose
  • Muscle aches
  • Joint or bone pain
  • Jerky movements of arms and legs
  • Hostility
  • Aggression
  • Mood swings
In addition, psychotic symptoms may occur with significant kratom dependence, which may include hallucinations, delusions, confusion, and potentially even seizures.

Depression, anxiety, insomnia, irritability, constipation, tremors, chills, sweating, lethargy, gooseflesh, nausea, headaches, weight loss, and darkening of the skin, especially the face, are also recorded as potential kratom withdrawal symptoms

I have read a few extreme accounts where users who were taking 50grams a day have had more extreme withdrawal symptoms however, those are really the exception.

One of the reasons kratom has gained so much popularity is because it is not as addictive or damaging as heroin. Typically, the stronger the addictive properties of the drug, the worse the withdrawal will be.

With that said, I hope they continue research and I don't personally encourage people to try it... There is no such thing as a harmless drug, and some kratom advocates promote it as such. It also gives me pause that addicts tend to trade one addiction or substance for another. It would be better to try and get to the root of where the addiction stems from... But at the end of the day, kratom is highly unlikely to do to your life what heroin will.

I stand by my comments:

Some signs of caffeine withdrawal include: impaired behavioral and cognitive performance, decreased or increased blood pressure, decreased motor activity, increased heart rate, hand tremor, increased diuresis, skin flushing, flu-like symptoms, nausea/vomiting, constipation, muscle stiffness, joint pains, and abdominal pain.

Would you compare caffeine withdrawal to heroin withdrawal after reading this?

I would not.

Cant die from heroin withdrawal tho it can be extremely unpleasant yea

You're telling me that it's not possible to die either directly or indirectly from heroin withdrawal? I feel I've read about this before and find it more than plausible, not sure I'm I'm missing you on the semantics.

I've never been addicted to anything other than coffee and cigarettes (finally stopped smoking), so my perspective is limited. But one thing ive seen in this whole opiod addiction problem is the all or nothing approach to curing it. I think it's ok to use kratom, methadone, or any of the other bridge treatments. I think it saves lives.

Saying the only substance withdrawal you can die from is alcool yea
