When wil you call it quits?

I could not agree more on the over 40 crowd. It's like most have just given up and are letting themselves lose years off their lives and for what? Because they can't set aside 30 minutes a day to do some form of exercise? Is it really that big of a deal to eat 3 semi healthy meals a day?

I'll tell you one of the biggest issues I face. It's the medical system. The average over weight, lazy POS ruins it for most of us that stay in shape. I had to look long and hard for a GP that would take into account my lifestyle and really see me as I am and not just numbers on a chart. If you need to see a specialist then find one that deals with athletes because all the rest will waste your time.

Small things such as using creatine can skew kidney function results on blood work and a hard leg day prior to labs will increase your creatinine levels. A high protein diet can also present as a potential problem If your doctor doesn't take your life style into account.

Then you get a response that isn't accurate to your actual condition and your time is wasted trying to explain these things to a nurse or you get unnecessary testing ordered.

I'll rant on one more thing while I'm thinking about it. I have a great BP monitor and cuff at home that accommodates larger arms. I check my BP at least 3 times a week (using proper protocol) just to stay current on where it is. It's normal most of the time and if anything might fall into the lower pre-hypertensive range at times.

But go to the doctor and the nurse grabs a cuff that is for arms that are up to 15". My arms are on average a minimum of 19" hanging relaxed no pump. Sometimes larger in the off season maybe slightly less in late prep but either way they use too small of a cuff. Then I get the "your BP is high is that normal"? I respond with your cuff is too small for my arm and they look at me like I'm an idiot.

Every medical organization out that deals with BP has the directive to use the proper sized cuff yet most medical staff act like they have no clue. Pisses me off to no end. Rant over.

I just saw a video with John Meadows the other day where he was talking about eating less than 200 grams of protein daily to maintain his current size.
Entirely feasible for someone to maintain on that. My issue is with young-ish guys who just stopped competing starting to preach that you can grow huge on small amounts of protein and 150mg of Test. A few of you probbaly know who I’m talking about. The fact is that aside from a few individuals who are genetically elite that just isn’t the case. Same for all these vegan boys. None of them got big vegan, but turn to veganism for whatever reason and preach that 10lbs of grapes a day can build a bodybuilding physique.

Off topic. Sorry. Rant over.

Agreed. Total bullshit to "get there" one way but then spin your success to support your current narrative knowing it's bullshit.

I'm turning 60 this summer...gonna start try doses in September...there are two people you can never beat...mother nature and father time...I am looking at benching 300 on my 60th bday...
Gonna be like 18 again. Better find some one half your age to keep up with ya. Never a bad thing:D

Look at the dosages of gear people are taking today vs 10 or 20 yrs ago. Guys are taking MASSIVE amounts of multiple compounds together in each cycle these days. For example, 500 mg of test/week, has become the standard for a blast and it goes up from there. NPP and Tren same thing. Because thats what people say it should be because thats what they were told because thats what someone read somewhere. Too much broscience. Every day someone asks, “how much of this should I take with that”? And they get 50 answers. Sometimes less is more. Maybe drop your doses and drop a few compounds and you just might be able to stay in the game a hell of a lot longer. I’d rather run milder cycles for 20 years and be a jacked old guy than blow out a heart valve at 30 or 40 so I could look like a beast for a few years. Most older guys like me prob feel the same. Just my .02.

I see no reason in ever stopping completely now.I'm 51 and still loving gear and working out as much as I did at 18!!!! I plan on dying doing both.Ive told all my friends that if they ever walk in the gym and see me dead to please add a couple more plates to whatever exercise I was doing before calling 911!!!!!
