Broken arms with metal plates, Can I still make gains?

Hey guys. Got involved in a bad motorcycle accident a few weeks ago. I broke my ulna and radius and had to get metal plates surgically implanted. Currently have two casts on my arms and covered in road rash....Just wondering if this will hinder my progress when return to the gym and work my way up to heavier weights. Pretty bummed because I was making great gains this year after not lifting much during 2020. Anyone else have metal plates in their arms?

I broke both my arms in half (on two wheels as well lol) and have plates and screws and enough arthritis and carpel tunnel to cover a whole nursing home.

I also fucking suck at making gains and am a weak pussy.

The wreck/injury has absolutely nothing to do with that though. Quit giving up before you even started bitch.

Work with a good physiotherapist and you’ll make gains again. Just make sure that you let your body heal properly, first.

Didn't have any metal, but years ago had to wear a helmet for a while after a nasty head injury (skull fracture) in a fall as well as a stabilizer for my neck (hairline fracture). Fun fun.

I've been in several motorcycle accidents. Shattered my femur, broken metatarsals collarbone, fingers, shoulder, skin graft on knee, just Stupid shit.

I have a huge titanium rod in my leg, plate in my foot, plate on collar bone.

It didn't really stop me from getting buff or limit any gym exercises long term. Short term you cannot gain, hell no, your body is in trauma mode. Need to eat well and learn to pass time. It'll get better with time and hopefully everything is at correct length and angle after repair.

I can still run, I wouldn't run for miles at 225lbs, but I jog with the gfs lil dog. Bicycle, kayak, hike etc
