I got my high school sweet heart pregnant when I was 18. I did what I thought was best and got married shortly after. We were never meant to be and it sucked. We had another kid when I was 23 I guess thinking that would help (LOL). I spent almost all of my 20’s working 60-80 hours a week trying to support my family. Looking back I made mistakes, didn’t treat my wife how I should have, and sold my soul for a dollar.

A few years ago she had an affair and we got divorced shortly after. I’m now a few months away from 30. Working my ass off to pay the child support while simultaneously getting ass fucked by the IRS.

Now at the ripe age of 29.6 I’m lost. All I’ve ever known is essentially how to be a husband. It’s easy to pick up chicks, but it’s hard finding ones who are worth building a life with. I also pretty much don’t know who I am. I didn’t spend my 20’s partying, traveling, exploring, making memories and friendships that would stand the test of time. I spent them working. Most years 6 days a week. And now I’m lost. I can’t imagine a future where I think “damn, I’m happy”.



OP, if you find the one you know “this is her!” Don’t let her go. But I think their is value in spending your 20’s just living life and experiencing new things.

Friendly piece of advice, don’t worry, be patient, and above all else and I mean all else, be honest with yourself.

It gets better. I’m almost 42, got another few years of child support, but spent the last few years tirelessly working on myself, and taking care of myself. Working out the answers to the hard questions. It’s all pretty much easy living now.

Just keep at it. Hard times create strong men.

Life is a dog eat dog world. Everyone is out for their own benefit. Humans are not hard to understand, nor women. Most just don't want to accept the truth. Just basic animal behavior.
