Music thread post ur shit been on this lately

I tried to listen to a little bit of two of them, but suicidal ideation caused me to stop. Had I listened to a third, or even a few more seconds, I would have definitely blown my brains out all over the keyboard.

Yuck.

This is why earplugs were invented.
Well Dam I tried

Dead are you black?

For me Rap isn't music, neither instrumentally or anything else resembling music.

This isn't racist, I grew up playing straight jazz(soprano and tenor saxophone), but to me black music has degenerated to the point that it's pretty much hopeless as far as what is mainstream.

Looking back at Jazz masters of the past like Charlie Parker, Coltrane and Miles and comparing the garbage put out today is pretty embarrassing for the entire black culture, they went from being masters of improvisation to pumping out dog shit.

I think it is difficult to aspire to greatness and spend any real time trying to listen to this, um, music. The two ideas just seem incompatible.

This music belongs with your prior relationship. Both in the gutter. Leave them there and walk away and go up the next rung of your career ladder and the next stage of physical development. Then seek out new relationships with stable, productive persons and look for the next rung to climb, up, out, and away from the gutter.

I’m a lad soool lover of rap big time but the new rap is disgraceful - disgusting towards women and it’s just terrible stuff - bring back run dmc- Eric b &rakim- disco 4-whodini - that was talent

I like some rap but it's pretty few and far betwe

en. To me the newer rap as well as newer country music are just awful. The "values" touted by rap are just awful. Fucking materialism, misogyny, and violence. Then country is usually just rich assholes pandering to their audience.

Honestly if you like the pop country or big country people please do me a favor and just listen to this. You can't deny its not true lol:

"I WRITE songs for the people who do, jobs in the towns is never move to" lmfao ain't that the country music truth!

In not a fan of screamo or death metal shit either which seems very popular in the lifting community.

No dubstep crap either. Though I do just like instrumental chill beats

To be honest, I don't listen to alot of music. I play piano, guitar, and drums but don't listen to much. I listen to podcasts more than anything. When I do put on music I often listen to Led Zeppelin, Rush, Greta Van Fleet, Slightly Stoopid (their fun stuff not the hardcore punk shit lol). Some 90s stuff like a few Third Eye Blind songs, a few Sugar Ray songs, some of those popular ones from when I was growing up.

I like a lot of Mac Miller's newer stuff, he (and his team) were pretty good artists actually. Gang Starr had several solid songs on their recent album from a few years ago. Dizzy Wright has some good stuff from a few years back, I haven't heard anything from him recently because I don't keep up and don't ever listen to the radio because everything in it is just pathetic and terrible

Most of the time I just listen to my girlfriend singing whatever she is listening to, which thankfully she's got good taste. Pretty much overlaps with exactly what I like as well. She is legit an unbelievable singer. I swear she could've made a career out of it is she wanted to. She literally can sing anything from Beyoncé to Led Zeppelin and Rush, it's amazing. Thankfully both of us think being famous would be a fucking awful experience and a horrible life, so she just sings for me instead ;)

Hip Hop from the late 70's and towards the late 80's was something interesting, but it wasn't violent or denigrating, it was gritty and they talked about the streets, drugs and sex in more subtle way.

As soon as you hit the 90's it was a disaster and the stuff today that is being put into the minds of black youths is tragic. I have no use for censorship at all, you want it you can have it, but you would think people would want a higher quality.

The main thing is violence. Drugs and sex have been around for a long long time, but violence is the destroyer of any culture, you can't move up in life or even maintain if the black culture doesn't take a hard stance against all forms of violence in real life and its representation in black arts.

As someone that spent a lot of time in Chicago going to jazz and blues clubs it always struck me seeing world class musicians using handcuffs to attach their instrument cases to themselves as they walked to the clubs to perform. When a black thief takes a $8K instrument off a black musician which happens, what kind of pile of shit is that?

I must admit some Rap I like and some I don't - its not my main type of music but I still appreciate and respect that everyone has different tastes and styles that they love.

Music is the second biggest thing I love about life, sometimes even more than training and you are either passionate about it or you aren't. Some people just don't get what the big deal is about with it and I'd hate to feel like that. Many people when they hear the stuff I'm into say the usual shit of 'it all sounds the same' and I say - what in that it has electric guitars and a drum kit in it LOL
