I probably won’t be original, but for me it’s a very convenient barrel and very practical to maintain.Glocks are great. They set the standards for service and reliability. But now many others have improved on their design.

I have the 4" Performance Center model like this. The Shield plus is a good gun, on a few sw forums. The Hellcat is also great, but I thought was way more than $550.https://www.smith-wesson.com/product/mp-shield-plus
Just looked on Academy and looks like you were right. Shield Plus range from 400 to 450, hellcat is 600. That Hellcat looks pretty sweet, I'd still pick a Glock 17/19 or my PC Shield over it.Maybe I have that price wrong??
I read you and I also want to buy a new Glock for myself.Just looked on Academy and looks like you were right. Shield Plus range from 400 to 450, hellcat is 600. That Hellcat looks pretty sweet, I'd still pick a Glock 17/19 or my PC Shield over it.
I personally don't think you could go wrong with either, or even a Glock for self defense. Even the Shields 13+1 capacity would be more than enough considering many self defense shootings do not go to capacity, but you never know.
This is how it usually happens, just go to see it is not possible necessarily something but you will buyMy Canik TP9 elite subcompact is another great gun with a good round capacity of 15+1, it’s very accurate and feels great in my hands. I walked into Academy one day to buy some pants to go hiking in and I walked out with the gun and no hiking pants. Academy has some good prices
You are not the only one, I have not been to the shooting range for a long time, and I also read you and decided to go to relieve the degree of nervous tension. And thanks to the motivation of this thread I will go to the range today to drop some money and rounds down range , hahahaa
Of course it will get worse. That’s just being realistic. That’s why we’re all buying more gunsI hate to be “that guy” but this world is getting sketchy and I predict the amount of crime and burglaries is going to get a lot worse in 23’ and 2024.
This 100 percent, I have 3 12 gauges a pump, a semi and a break action, small game load or as stated birdshot, handguns can be difficult to target if not used often, shotguns can be a little more forgiving, and as long as you are familiar with the action and recoil it is hands down best home defense firearm available, I have taught my wife everything with the semi as it has the least kick of the 3, the shorty shells would make great home.defense rounds imo, as the recoil is next to nothing and they will defend you in close quarters no questionMost “correct” answer is a shotgun with birdshot both for increasing your odds of hitting an intruder middle of the night/jacked up on adrenaline and for avoiding over penetration and hitting your neighbors house.
Best answer is whatever you’re currently most proficient with.
Not sure if you’ve looked into any gun owners insurance but it’s a good idea to have it. I’m with USCCA and I pay abt 29$ a month and it covers my family if they need to put someone down at my house. The company does a lot for members in terms of self defense education, bail money if you end up in a situation you need to shoot someone, wage coverage up to 750$ a day for time out of work, attorney appointing and experts on self defense situations and ballistics etc etcOf course it will get worse. I read on a different sight that some insurance companies won't cover you if you take a plea and they'll attempt to recoup the money spent on defense for you. Just something to look in to.Not sure if you’ve looked into any gun owners insurance but it’s a good idea to have it.
