Ok yes,I've had 2 AC surgeries, one each shoulder.
For the first, I listened to my GP who said it was barely a Grade 3 and told me I wouldn't need surgery because it looked fine, I could use and still move it relatively well, and I didn't complain about the pain.
Long story short, I did need surgery. 6 months (!) later, I saw a surgeon who chastisted me for not seeing him right away. (I had to wait 2months to get an appointment with - he later told me if I would have told the receptionist it was a semi-emergency I could have seen him immediately).
The surgeon used endobutton (tightrope) but my AC ligaments could not be recovered so he did ligamentoplasty using tendons take from my hamstring muscle (as an alternative to cadaver). I don't know if this is an option or even possible to use in late surgeries for this type of pec tear?
The second surgery (I got hit by a car while cycling) was better. The accident happened at 6pm. I literally called him from the scene at 7pm. He saw me at 9am. I was in the operating room ~24 hours later.
Repairing acute injuries are much easier, recover much faster, with better prognosis.
My first intervention was successful but the second one was as close to perfect as I could imagine and perhaps better than before.
So yeah, always address these type of injuries immediately and persistently.
so you are still able to put on solid size after this occured as i can tell, that is inspiring. I will 100 percent stress the working out aspect as you said earlier.
Wow that is incredible you are able to bounce back from that, with all your hard work and detication. And yes using a cavaer is possible if needed and this new surgeon can do this where the other would not be able to. Since the new one is incredibly knowledage and top.
Thank You
