Benefits of the Bodybuilding Lifestyle

What are some of the benefits that you have seen in your own life by living the bodybuilding lifestyle?

Self Confidence and Self Esteem. Without a doubt I would say that this is one of the first benefits that I noticed in my own life. Obviously, a clean diet and regular exercise are what precipitated the physical transformation that gave me the boost in self confidence and self-esteem.

I noticed that as I became fitter, I also became more ALPHA and less beta male. My self-esteem rose to a level beyond what I had even had in high school. I found myself to be more approachable to the opposite sex and I also found that I was way more flirtatious than I had ever been. Of course, that also equated to a sex life that goes beyond where I ever thought possible.

How about you guys?

Any and all contributions to this thread are appreciated. I think that with positive input from the community, newbies that are on the fence will come over to the DARK SIDE after reading these.

This lifestyle has brought me zero positives.

I’d give anything to be able to truly change my personal desires to fat and unhealthy. That’s so much more fun.

That’s funny
The only other benefit I can think of by being 240 now, vs 180 when I was in college sport is now all the cute boys buy me drinks at the bar all the time.

Other than that it's all time sink and inconveniences

I would definitely be dead without bb and powerlifting.

Wanting to make consistent progress in the gym definitely lead to structuring my day outside of work around training. This led to pros and cons, however by living in a routine of prioritizing consistently getting in meals, training, and recovering, I'd definitely say my overall quality of life improved. Having a structured goal that I was driven towards in the gym not only helped give me a sense of direction, but helped eliminate other negative social stimulus that I'd look for if I wasn't in this lifestyle.

Don't know if this is a joke or not but trust me from a 300+ fat fuck no you don't. It's just another hell of your own making just the opposite.

I was being serious lol but I have thought about it more and it had brought me some positives. As a former fatty myself (275lbs of pure goo) the areas where my life suffered before have improved and the areas where my life didn’t suck now suffer.

I would choose this over the fatty lifestyle though.

Deep in a cut and not making the progress I want also probably has me a bit more negative.

For me it’s a tough lifestyle though. If my goal was just “healthy active” then it wouldn’t be so bad.

Besides all the obvious, this lifestyle has opened a lot of doors for me. I’ve walked into several management positions where I knew absolutely nothing about the field. Sure, I have a great resume and am driven but a good physique tells the tale of discipline, dedication, being goal oriented and has put me in many leadership positions.

There's a lot:
-Mental Focus,
-Goal Setting and Planning,
-Confidence for sure,
-Stress Management.

Also working out for years let my social anxiety go away, maybe it is still there, but for sure it is less visible, at least people who know me say that.

That’s great brother. I got my daughter working out and it helped her social anxiety as well.

The gym is my therapist. I can be having the worst day ever but I always feel a little better after leaving the gym.
