Absolutely, not! Members should never use a member status title for this purpose.
There was a good reason MESO eliminated the member status title a decade ago. It's precisely because many users exploited this status to profit off of the community while bypassing normal forum safeguards regarding sources.
So, when MESO recently re-introduced status titles, we excluded sources so they wouldn't be able to benefit from this.
Obviously, this was not enough since users can still simply operate as regular member to gain trust, establish credibility, and establish friendships and use this as a springboard to launch a sourcing operation.
This has historically been one of the most successful ways for new sources to bypass/escape/avoid/minimize accountability on the forum.
There is a natural tendency for the community to let their guard down in such scenarios. It works greatly as an advantage to the source but unfortunately it is sadly to the disadvantage of the consumers seeking accountability/harm reduction.
None of this necessarily means that any particular user who takes this route to becoming a source is going to be a "scammer" nor does it assume that this path was necessarily calculated approach to becoming a source nor does it assume any other motivations.
But the end result is that it is a great model of avoiding/minimizing accountability. And this is not what a harm reduction forum should encourage.
