who would of thought this was such a big topic. lol i only figured maybe 3 ppl would voice opinions but thanks for all the input i do appreciate it. So machines yes i will try this racks and benches no. this is what ive picked up from this conversation except some people feel the need to say yes everyone is entitled to work in. Which i would agree with this if people actually fucking hit consistent workouts and did focus on working sets and or even know what time under tension is. Just saying yes its a commercial gym and yes its mainly broccoli headed gym shark fuckers who dont actaully lift. but for hardcore lifters we have shared racks before where someone does squats and i do rack pulls or deads in front of them or vice versa. but I do appreciate all the Input from different views and different age groups. As well as different gym goers.
If I am on a bench, and you want to come work in, you are more than welcome. Same goes for the squat rack.
If we have to add weight for your sets from my wimpy set (or vice versa), then so be it. We'll both pitch in and do it.
On squats I am going to be two and a half to three minutes between sets, anyway. We could probably have another work in with the two of us, too, without bothering my rest time.
I remember this girl asking to work in with me on squats one time. I had seen her working out before and already knew she was strong. I half laughingly joked "just don't make me look bad." Nervous laugh.
She looked me dead in the eye, and said, "I hope not, since you're, you know, a guy." No laugh.
Yeah, I found something inside that day that made sure I was at least doing significantly more weight then her and cranking as many reps as possible . . .

I ended up putting way more weight on the bar than I had planned at the beginning of the workout.
