You realize that what the US is demanding is more Chinese intervention in the export drugs market. I know a lot of you voted for this guy and don’t want to say anything negative about his policies but this is very very bad for the meso crowd. It either gets resolved with a tighter grip on drugs or it doesn’t and we deal with this garbage. There is no good outcome.

Democrats spent the last two years demanding this be done, all the legislation to stop de-minimus has been bi-partisan, and the groundwork for what's happening now can be traced to Biden's executive orders last fall. This is probobly the issue with the most bi-partisan support in a decade or more.

It was inevitable,

"House Democrats called on President Biden to end a U.S. trade provision that has been boon for China’s e-commerce companies and drawn criticism from some who argue that the rule is an unfair and potentially dangerous loophole.

A majority of Democrats in the House of Representatives signed a letter sent Wednesday that called for quick executive action to address what is known as the de minimis provision in U.S. trade law, which lets shipments valued at $800 or less enter the country with relatively little scrutiny. "

Either we fix our country and tighten our belts or we languish in to obscurity. What happened to real men who were willing to sacrifice for their children. Jesus Christ almighty. Yep. Law and order means no drugs. Find another source.

There is no war on AAS, it's collateral damage. We all know it's about the hundreds of thousands of Americans, most in the prime of their lives, dying from Chinese synthetic opioids, often unknowingly ingesting them.

It's pretty disgusting, but unsurprising, a guy with no integrity would resort to gaslighting what was a Dem centerpiece policy into "you voted for this, losers". Even worse is suggesting that allowing that to continue is preferable to more expensive steroids.

It's like the way inflation didn't exist for the last four years, but as soon as some Chinese junk at Walmart goes up 3% "families are being destroyed".

I think most are beyond the reach of this kind of dishonest narrative, but we'll see.

I agree with you that this is bad for our community. I do think this has more to do with taxing everything coming in and the fentanyl is just the cover story to sell it. Best case scenario is they don’t care what is getting shipped in as long as you pay the taxes. Figuring out how to determine taxes on illegal goods is going to be the tricky part.

Law and order means it’s illegal and you are not allowed to have it unless they allow you. lol

Sweet baby Jesus, if this is right then the government is so f'd up! Let me pull my right thumb outta my ass so I can put the left one back in....wonder when they'll flip and change back to "China packs big no-no!"

They said it was a suspension. Likely to figure out how to process Chinese mail like small packs in cargo containers in accordance with Biden's exec order that went into effect.

For a minute it looked like China mail, vs packs in shipping containers like Yunexpress, were actually going to be a workaround and not subjected to greater scrutiny. CBP commented on this a week ago.

They saw the new loophole, and closed it before it could open.

Appreciate the update (doesnt change my opinion on the government a whole lot though )...so are they actually going to let packs slide again? And, if so, how are they going to pick up the tariff money since the de minimus has been suspended? I cant see them holding 1.6 billion packs waiting for the tariff to be paid...cod maybe? This is going to be an interesting shake out.

I wouldn't want to give anyone false hope, but since this is being done executively, they don't have to start collecting tariffs immediately. There's no hard deadline date in law.

There are multiple elements to implementing this. The first and most critical is accurate data in customs declarations. Preciously a vague abbreviated description like "t-shirt" could be used. (these are all numerical codes). Now it has to be "t-shirt, dyed, cotton of egyptian origin, final assembly China". Also a verified sender ID and a legit US recipient must be specified, which CBP says they will verify.

My guess is they will spend time enforcing this first, and issue big fines to shippers who have inaccurately identified packs, to "train" them to police themselves and be choosy who they accept packs from.

By the time they get the system in place to start applying tariffs, there will very likely be some degree of de minimus exemption allowed, like $200 or something.

A lot of stuff is shipped de minimus that shouldn't be. Like commercial goods and factory supplies. This was a system meant for small gifts and tourists sending souvenirs home.

Once a lot of that crap gets pushed into the regular commercial shipping systems, there will be far fewer packs, a stated goal of CBP, with a more strict data system in place, making it all easier to surveil and control.

So I think there might be a small window as all this ramps incrementally where packs may get through, but if there is, based on us seeing them actually land, I'd jump on it immediately because don't think it'll last long. Maybe a couple of months. After that, vendors will almost certainly have to use an entirely different way, my guess is they'll be smuggling it in bulk somehow and selling domestically,

Brother, I hope I’m reading this wrong.

If not you are a smart guy but sometimes I think your lack of impulse control and desire to argue leads you to make poor assumptions and interpret things incorrectly.

You first point I agree with with. 100 percent. Hormones are collateral damage. Primary focus is narcotics with fentanyl being #1.

Hope you aren’t referring to me when talking about gaslighting and integrity.

The rest of what you said is a bit muddled, and I don’t want to comment on something I may misinterpret and further what may be misunderstanding.

Irregardless my message is directed at us as a community. We need to stop bemoaning this and cowboy up a bit. I’m over the whining.

While I enjoy being a hypocrite and getting cheap illicit hormones, my desire to see our country improve dramatically and corruption driven out of government (I’m a small government tough on crime guy) outweighs my desire to benefit from bloated government and corrupt politicians that allow drugs to flow unabated across our border despite unenforced policy.

If it all was directed at me. Go easy.

You (sometimes) use such harsh language and vitriolic attacks it detracts from any real point you have made and candidly lowers your credibility and the respect the community has for you.

If that doesn’t matter to you. Do you boo

I'm guessing someone made a foolish decision trying to impress the Big man and common sense later prevailed. There is nothing that could have been solidly achieved in the 8 hrs that announcement was made. China didn't even have time to announce a counter measure. I'm guessing the thought of the massive backlog made sense prevail

dont worry guys, there will not be any issues with our shipments from china etc. there is always a way to do it. the way is to pay the extra 2-3$ then all is good. you can read about it aswell. it is only the new president that wants to mess things up all over the world. comeon

We don't really need to so given to defending actions that aren't smart. The abrupt suspension is complete foolishness regardless of who is responsible for the decision. All this talk of oh the Dems wanted this means nothing. There were a million and 1 things the Dems wanted that has been tossed by this admin, so why go hyper on this one? It was going to cause a headache and they walked back on the foolishness to have a better plan on how to do this.
FYI as I said many weeks ago, Fentanyl deaths are crashing. Unfortunately someone in this admin felt it was a good Idea to freeze public health information so we cannot have the latest numbers, but yes, Whatever was being done was gradually working. How does freezing packs from china actually stop what you claim comes in mainly from mexico?
Anyway, it's all moot now. Time to splurge on reta and check out before another decision is made to ban import of all compounds in Vials

The Suspension has been suspended bruh
“This is a significant challenge for them because there were 4 million de minimis packages per day in 2024, and it is difficult to check all the packages — so it will take time,” she said.

This is about the taxes, nothing more, nothing less.

I do think all of this uncertainty increases the likelihood that if QSC comes back it will be under a new name and after the dust has settled.
