does anyone here eat organs?

i’m curious, i know a lot of us prioritize animal products in general, but does anyone go for organs? i want to find a good local farm for that because i don’t trust even the organic grocer for that, i just get my butter, milk, eggs, and muscle meat from there.

I get it from the supermarket but im in eu so its at least decent quality and we always go to a good supermarket lol

Tbh not too appetizing
yeah i’ve never tried it might as well just do primarily animal based products and just supplement what you might be missing. sounds gross and disgusting even tho i know its the most nutrient dense. i’ll just get my macros and supplement any missing micros.

Better not mention what gives good hotdogs that "snap" lol.

Beef and lamb liver are pretty good and chicken livers are good for adding extra "punch" to pasta sauce. I tried to eat beef kidney once and apparently you're supposed to stew it, but I cooked it like steak and it was a miserable experience

We grew up eating cow livers. But liver is kind of like bluegrass music. You can only take so much of it before you get turned off.

I've tried bringing liver into my diet and few times and yeah, there is only so much I can take. It's alright.

Patè would be my suggestion to get some liver in your diet. I could eat buckets of it.

I'm a sucker for organs, we eat kokoretsi or kokorec like our Turkish neighbours say it. It contains lamb organs, intestines, heart, liver, lungs, sweet breads (from Thymus and pancreas) and lamb suet. It's delicious af but it's full of fats so i eat it maybe 6-7 times a year. I like the head too, brain, cheeks and tongue.

For bb purposes beef liver is my way to go, usually cook a decent portion of like 1-1,5kg and put it in the freezer at 80-100gr ziplock bags. I prefer eating small amounts as an addition with other meals and not so frequent due to its very high vitamin concentration. It's a great source of heme iron though.

My exact experience. I was big into liver a few months back but got carried away and ate it for dinner 3 days in a row. It’s been about 5 months now and I still just don’t have an interest in eating it again anytime soon lol.

If your embarrassed to say testicles, I'll say it xD

We got most of those things in the freezer rn including a variety of testicles. Shit is cheap, high protein, and basically tastes like nothing (or soaks up whatever spices/flavors you cook it in).

Patè is cheating :P

For anyone's first foray into organ meats:

Do not try beef liver first. Try veal, chicken, goat, or lamb liver instead. The flavor of beef liver can be considered offensive and will turn you away from organs forever.

Many things like testicles, brain, and sweetbreads taste like nothing; it's just different textures that you're working with.

I forget the brand but they sell an “ancestral blend” ground beef at sprouts that has beef liver and heart in it. Despite how metal biting into the heart of another living creature is, that’s probably the only way I’m getting any organs in.
