The only reference for the 45% claim that I could find was Wikipedia, and that's obviously not at all reliable. It seems that the oral bioavailability numbers were possibly something fabricated by companies with a vested interest in selling oral versions of it.Got a source for that claim? It has never been used orally in any study.
Didn't do anything for me at 500mg a day (not mcg) and that batch from SSA was tested multiple times by different people. Didn't feel a thing or see any effects.
Did a quick search on it and all I could find was:
Bottom line: in the scientific literature, SLU-PP-332 hasn’t been shown to be orally bioavailable in a way that delivers meaningful blood levels or efficacy by mouth. SLU-PP-915 was developed because SLU-PP-332 lacked that property.
In other words, as I suspected, anyone that claims this drug does anything when they use it orally is full of shit. The research group that developed both compounds states that SLU-PP-332 lacks oral bioavailability. That paper was published THIS MONTH.
The studies I saw referenced intraperitoneal injection as the form of administration. There was a mention in one of the studies of increasing the oral bioavailability by creating a pro-drug version, something like SLU-PP-332-Acetate. It would be a huge stretch to assume that the wording there, "increase oral bioavailability", could possibly imply some oral bioavailability vs them saying something like "in order to give the drug oral bioavailability", but maybe it has some very limited oral bioavailability? If that's true, it would mean the doses would need to be even higher than the adjusted mouse to human equivalent doses, since the mice received injections.
It is definitely curious how many people report effects on mcg doses. Placebo is a hugely powerful thing, so of course it is possible that every bit of the anecdotal positive benefits are nonsense.
I have 80 vials of 5mg injectable SLU-PP-332 that I'm waiting to use. I've heard conflicting information about its ability to suspend in aqueous solution, as well as how long it stays good once reconstituted. I was planning on doing one vial a day for a while to see if it did anything, but if the doses really need to be as high as the equivalency doses would be, I barely have enough for a few days. Hopefully SLU-PP-915 becomes available at reasonable prices.
