I want to get rid of my belly, it seems to the only body part that still grows easily on me after 27 years of training.
Is there anything I can do besides stricter diet, ab work and more running?

I've heard wearing a belt throughout all of your workouts and trying to keep you stomach tensed when your driving or watcing TV etc.. helps.

I assume you are talking about fat on the mid section, not bloat from gear or Hormones, and not developing more ab muscles, correct?

No I am not talking about fat, I'm at 11% body fat right now. Its just a distended gut I always thought was from eating to big of meals. I eat 4 meals a day right now, about one every 4-5hrs. My schedule does not allow me to eat every 3hrs.

You can just add a few shakes instead of "meals" if need be. I don't see where that would be so hard. Does your schedule not allow for fluid intake?

Not really sure what your problem is. How do you have a "gut" at 11%? Suck it in! Maintain tension on your abs.

Alot of dairy produce can cause the barrel gut.
If you are eating alot of dairy try cutting it out for a month.

Although this will help to weaken the pelvic, lumbar and thoracic muscles!

As Griz said. At 11%, draw in. Start with the action of trying to draw your testicles up into your body and then your belly button towards your spin. activates pelvic basin, then abdominal in sequence.

I drink tons of milk and love ice cream. That could be it.

I once consumed 2 kg of low fat milk powder a- week, during a bulking cycle.
My gut barreled up so high, when I lay on my bed it was higher than my chest!
But it was solid, with no apparent fat gain on top of abbs.
So it clicked that the milk was doing it.
After I dropped the milk the barrel disappeared over a few weeks.
Now I drink nearly no dairy, just stick to good clean meat proteins and BCAA.
Waist stays around 31"-32" now days.

I think your right, it is my problem also, I personally drink 2 gallons a week plus cottage cheese, yogert. Ice cream etc.

I feel addicted to it cuz I been drinking tons since I was a child.
I count on it to get 100g of protein a day. / from dairy.

I can tell after just a few days of drinking milk. Even by the end of the day if I have had a few glasses of milk, it will start to patrude. Another thing you can try, is the stomach vacum which was sort of stated earlier. It works the intercorsole ab muscles which are responsable for keeping your stomach from busting through and allowing ur abs to be sucked in. The body builders back in the day used to love doing that which is why although they had great amounts of mass, their stomachs were almost cartoonish small in comparison. Start out on all fours (which is the easiest way to contract) blow out all the air in your lungs and suck your belly button into your spine. hold it as long as you can. over time, you will be able to do it wiht blowing out less and less air. once you can hold it easily for over a minute for ten times, when you can do that, try to do it sitting, once that becomes easy, try it standing. once you have masterd that, do that 10-15 times a day eod and see if it does not help pull your stomach in nice and tight

I will try this also, especially since it can be done any time of day instead of just in the gym.

DISTENDED ? LIKE STICKS OUT JUST BELOW YOUR SOLAR PLEXIS, THEN GOES FLAT AT BELT LINE ?

MAYBE A STUPID QUESTION BACK AT YA BUT, ARE YOU EXHALING COMPLETLY WHEN YOU DO ABBS ?

i HAVE AND HAD A SIMILAR THING, BUT I STARTED FULLY EXHALING AT THE MOST CONTRACTED MOVEMENT OF MY AB ROUTINE AND IT SEEMS TO HAVE PULLED IT BACK IN.

HOPE IT HELPS

It could be dairy. It could also be gas from wheat products. It could be big meals. I can lose like 2 inches on my waist in about two days from just eating very little food. That works great in the final two weeks before stepping onto the beach or stage or whatever, but not for general living. Try dividing your meals up even more to lower the volume of food being digested at any given time.

I also agree that learning to suck in makes a huge difference. Tighten your belt around your pants like a notch or two. The discomfort of it will keep reminding you to hold it in.

I really believe it from the type food I eat cuz I also get heart burn quite frequently.
