So if no Finestride....then what do you use?

What do you think of how clean that FUE procedure From Shapiro looks only days out o surgery ?

Shaprio is the king of hairlines also,

I'm not 100% sure of this but I believe Shapiro hired away Coles CIT (FUE ) guy, you can call MAtt Zupan Shapiros rep and ask.

If that is true you may want to make sure Cole is still doing top notch work.

Yeah, will do. I was very impressed by the look of Shapiro's work just four days out. Money is not the problem for me; it is the down time I figured I'd have to spend while the grafts healed. With that kind of work, though, I could get away with having the work done on a Friday and being back in the office by Tuesday or Wednesday. That makes it much more realistic.

So did you actually have hair loss before TRT ?

While it's supposed to work in theory i haven't found anyone who had hair loss on trt without fin, added fin and their hair loss stopped.

I had hair loss before TRT.

Started gels, accelerated HUGE. I added Dr. John's topical, and it definitely stabilized. I had used Dr. Lee's 2% and 5%, didn't notice a diff, though I am a fan of Xandrox. I firmly believe it was Xandrox that regrew a good head of hair for me when I was in my 20s.

I subsequently switched to shots, and added the fin as a hedge. I also use American Crew copper peptide stuff. It's inexpensive and can't hurt.

I have met with Cole, in fact, he originally gave me the script for propecia. His work seems good, though I didn't have a chance to meet any live patients (though I'm sure I could have).

I also think Shapiro has some of the softest, finest hairlines in the biz. I think if I was having one, it would be Shapiro with FUT.

As I get older (almost 40), I really don't mind being thin in the crown. And I also like the look of a receeding hairline...I think it's age appropriate.

But I could definitely use a small number of grafts up front and about 1500 in the crown. If only I had the $$.

I think in one week you'd never know. There's a hairloss site that has a lot of his work on it and I'm consistently impressed by his post op.

I've even seen pics of guys who elect not to shave the top of their head and Shapiro "weaves" in grafts.

Interesting. You didn't notice any improvement with topical spiro? The most encouraging testimony I've heard about spiro is from guys who are on cycle and take it to combat MPB. Each time I read such a story they contend that it stopped the hairloss. It seems to have slowed mine down.

Nope. Definitely didn't work for me, I was disappointed. I started using the 2% twice per day then added the 5% after minox application at night.

I was on transdermals at the time and was shedding like friggin crazy.

I think there's more spiro in dr j's formula, and it's mixed with niz.

Shapiro sent me something in the mail the other day about low cost financing so maybe that's an option for you.

I'm just wondering if you never had a transplant ( no strip scar) why you would choose strip over FUE given Shapiro's results using FUE and your limited hair loss ?

First, I could ideally use about 3,000 in the crown. i should have said 1500 in my estimation (from hair sites) to minimally restore density.

I like the idea of having no linear scar, so I could have the option to wear my hair shaved to a number 3. Unless you get a perfect strip scar, which is not always the case, my understanding is you need to go longer.

At this point, it's academic anyways, got a baby on the way...I don't think I could get the wife to sign off on a hair transplant!!

But that's good to know about the financing.

Ok you want FUE though not FUT (strip)

An Fue procedure your size would be done over several days

Just remember DR's Shapiro and feller both believe in small Fue sessions over several days, the 1900 grafts in the link you saw were done over 3 days

I could have sworn Dr. J said 5% spiro, but I know that it is in liposomes, which no doubt enhances the absorption. If it were cheaper, I'd throw it in the mix with the rest of the stack.

i also got sides from propecia, i got testicle pain then when i quit i got no libido ED and watery semen, its a disaster, its now been 6 months and im still awaiting recovery!

Re: So if no Finestride....then what do you use?

I opened this thread because this was the title. Now I've waded through 6 pages to find out that no one answered the original question. But, it's not just this board. Any board you go to where this question is asked, the question is never answered and some of those boards are ran by doctors.

It's very frustrating to those who just want a plain answer and don't want to read threads about hair transplants.

What you just troll and go. Come back six weeks later[:o)] and see whats on the line...??

The reasont the question is never answered is because you already know the answer. There is no substitute.

If you dont need any DHT then just dont use testosterone. Or cut it back to the appropriate DHT level for you. And some Deca if you still need more anabolic reaction.

Keep in mind that everyone has a different genetic threshold for DHT activity. You may not be able to handle any with regard to hair loss, etc.....

Why the hell is someone going to ever use steroids if they are worried about DHT? The question continues to crack me up.!!!!!!!! It fucking lunacy. Consider this, EVEN if you are a TRT patient with low Total T, was it really ever low if your DHT needs are being met???

Hair loss is only one concern, Being a TRT patient myself I am more concerned with BPH. So, I know from the problems I had prior to starting that my test was too low, but on the other hand my prostate was enlarged to the point that urinating was not fun.
So we have a quandary. Even doctors will say finasteride does horrible things to your body, don't use it. But, imagine what it's like to need to pee like you just drank a pitcher of beer and nothing will flow. We NEED an alternative that will shrink the prostate without interfering with sexual function.
So, in that state of frustration, reading 6 pages that don't help just adds frustration to frustration.

Are you dosing any Adex?? Even Nolvadex is worth a shot. There is no question that the prostate is affected by E2. You elevated levels have to be affecting it. I believe there is research right now as Nolva apparently has some good blocking properties round the prostate. Some serms are proven to reduce prostate size significantly, Maybe DHT is not your problem. You sound older. You must have E2 issues as well. Try a run of Nolva and see what happens...
FYI, I am one who is on a personal quest to find determine if E2 is the root of prostate cancer. It may very well be...... Neither active metabolite is good in too high a fashion. Have you checked levels to see what actual numbers are on both? Sorry if I have not read prior please rediret me.

Going to look into the Nolva and getting self tested. My doc doesn't seem to want to check estrogen. I'm 52. I have tried the adex before and even at low doses drove myself too low. I assume I am just very sensitive to adex.
