Asia Pharm was a steroid company who was recently busted. That was led by Obama and his boys. He is going after steroids. He put a warning out to people. Something along the lines of "do not buy steroids from Asia Pharm or you will be prosecuted." IMO there will be a few major busts and this market will correct it self. There are so many sources right now. Don't get too used to it. Some of these open board sources will be the first to go. Things will get back to normal soon. I would suggest stocking up!

Technically, Asia Pharma wasn't "busted" in the traditional sense of the word. It remained in operation while its owner was in Austrian custody and now that the owner is a fugitive, he could presumably still be operating his steroid companies. But the fact that Obama designate the AP owner under the Kingpin Act likely marks the end of the road for AP due to the sanctions imposed by the US government on anyone that does business with it.

Here's one theory I've seen proposed:

LE/Govt/NSA (whatever) set up their own TOR nodes. They then setup a couple hundred bots on the TOR network and have them repeatedly connect to the SR site. They monitor the traffic patterns on their nodes and watch for a common IP address to surface. Only end-point nodes would be of use, but those nodes would all point to the same destination IP.

They do this all the time, half of those big name proxy server companies are either feeding to law enforcement or set up directly as a cyber-sting.
They own out or pay off the owner of some servers, or they use some unauthorized legal "hijacking" to obtain records.

That's why unless you do EVERYTHING yourself, you can never really know, you should always be able to monitor the traffic of the IPs your using, and every request should be read, and scripts very carefully regulated.
The amount of customization made to your own get-away-route reflects how much you don't want to be caught.

Have you read what country the SR server was hosted in? Feds were only able to image it because of the MLAT. The obvious follow-up question is what non-MLAT countries have good web hosting services?

Actually that's not entirely true since one of those countries was Iceland. The US does NOT have an MLAT with Iceland so instead negotiated a one time arrangement with them. I'm sure whatever arrangement it was, Iceland was well compensated. The other place he had a server spotted was in Malaysia which has had a MLAT since 2009.

Regardless, I'd consider non-MLAT country Russia to be the best bet if you're looking for hosting outside of US reach. They are sheltering Snowden from US persecution. But that's not to say they might not cut a deal like Iceland did should your darknet site become big time. [}]
