10ml or 20ml or 30ml vials

Someone bought out all the vial spikes 4550579, and now only pre-orders are available. With shipping and taxes, 30 pieces come out to $120, or $4 each. There are cheaper ones with a green cap, but as I understand it, they don’t have a filter.
After using the ones with filter for awhile I’m starting to wonder if I’d prefer the ones without.

I typically load 3 substances into a syringe. Maybe I’m stupid but I keep having issues doing so and I think it has to do with the filter holding air. Either way, I’m going to try some non filtered since I filter all my gear anyway and see how it goes.

Edit: that and I’ve cracked 3 of them now @Ghoul am I stupid

If you're mixing compounds in one syringe, filtered needles are a better option. For single compound use, ie TRT, the spikes are superior.

Especially if using large syringes, over 1ml, it's very easy to over tighten. It's not necessary to make a good seal. Stop as soon as there's resistance, don't crank it down any tighter.

I’ve never used them, but if they provide more safety and make drawing oil easier, then it might be worth placing an order.
That was @Ghoul LOL.

@Ghoul not sure why (I’m probably stupid) but I take this vial, set it on my warmer for a couple seconds, and go to withdraw. EVERY time, it leaks. This is a brand new one, no crack no over tightening, only drew one substance. Where am I going wrong lol

Luer lock 1mL syringes. It’s happened with 2/3 of them now starting to wonder if maybe it’s the batch or something. No idea

Are you pushing air into the vial first? At what point in the process does it leak? As on as you flip it upside down, or when you start pulling on the syringe?

No air into the vial, and sometimes it is as soon as I flip sometimes it is on pull.

I’ve gone as far as to connect to a new spike before inserting to ensure I’m not fucking that up, inserting then trying to draw and same result.

I'm pretty sure it's not a bad batch. What type of syringe is it? Do you have another you could experiment with? I'd assume it's some weird incompatibility between that particular syringe and the spike. I just looked at mine after 15 draws, and there's zero sign of leakage.

I’m using bullshit lite touch syringes… I was just telling my wife I want something new. I’ll report back

FWIW the FDA has been advising medical providers stop using all Chinese made syringes, due to numerous widespread issues including leaks. It started with a couple of brands, and was extended to all.

BD is your best bet.

That price was on the final invoice from Praxisdienst with a link to pay. Sadly, I had a poor experience with Altruan recently. If a shipment goes missing they drag you through a monthslong claim process. But if they carried this version of the Mini Spike the shipping would indeed be $50 cheaper. I'm okay spending roughly $4.70 each.
Following up to caution against buying from Praxisdienst. Obscene shipping aside, they didn’t have enough supply on hand and have dragged out issuing a refund for a week and counting. At a minimum, confirm they can actually fulfill the order before paying.

Just got these bad boys: https://www.medicaleshop.com/nokor-5-micron-filter-needle-18-gauge. Drawing multiple compounds is now so much easier and safer - no need to worry about the stoppers anymore. I also switched from Temuro needles to BD needles, and based on first impressions, they’re way better. Huge thanks to @Ghoul for the filtered needle and BD brand recommendation!
Yeah I'm loving these too. Pricier than the mini spikes overall but worth it imo. And being available domestically is a big plus.
