Interesting. I guess I shouldn't be surprised that the Mafia is allegedly involved. I have heard that the Chinese Tri-ads are involved along with some European Gangs but never heard that the Mafia was involved.

The Donati Report alleges that the Italian-American Mafia invested in Gold's Gym franchises and also in Arnold's Pumping Iron documentary with the explicit intent of promoting the illicit trade of steroids which they allegedly controlled in the 70s.

I have not seen this substantiated anywhere else; I have no idea if the Donati Report, in part or in whole, has been discredited. On first look, I tend to think it isn't completely factual (i.e. propaganda).

If anyone knows, please post.
