When I was thinking through the AAS that offer unique features, I couldn't particularize anything too unique about Anadrol.

Oxymetholone (Anadrol) Particulars
I can probably boil it down to this: Anadrol acts principally as a prohormone (Schänzer view) to 17α-methyl-5α-androstane-3α,17β-diol, this is 17α-methylated-3α-diol [referred to in this very article]. I have modeled its activity using the SwissTargetPrediction & SwissADME tools that show that it is a good AR ligand as well as ER-β ligand. ER-β modulates muscle remodeling and tends to oppose classical ER-α effects, "putting the brakes on" effects like feminization/gynecomastia, etc.

The thing to understand about prohormones of the "-diol" class is that they are metabolized by 3α/β-HSD to oxidize 3-hydroxyl to 3-ketone as well, that typically but not always is a better AR ligand due to the importance of the 3-keto group to serve as an electron acceptor with its lone pair of electrons, forming a strong bond with the charged amino acids of the AR's N-terminus. My September Newsletter discusses the -diols, -diones, and 4- & 5- prodrugs in the section titled, §2. Prohormones and Designer Steroids, Redux – Prohormones were to Metabolic Trickery as Designer Steroids were to Legal Chicanery. Still, acting principally as a prohormone is not unique to Anadrol, since Epistane is similar. Another quality of Anadrol is that it is estrogen-sensitizing a la progestagenic effects and also probably benefits joints, acting oppositely to Winstrol's effects on joints.

Yes, by virtue of its antagonizing PR, I believe that this is the case. The two are complementary in this regard, "middling-out" sensitivity to, e.g., gyno.

One of my favorite ways to polish off the end of a bulk, is to run last 5-6 weeks of 100mg of anadrol and 50mg of winstrol on top of Test and Npp. The synergy between anadrol and Winstrol is truly amazing. If you are going to experiment with the 2, you will find that it definitely does offset the potential estrogen sensitivity issues that anadrol has been known to bring to the table, however, it also can help combat most of not all of the progestagenic effects cause by nandrolone and trenbolone, by combatting progesterone Winstrol indirectly lowers prolactin. Simple solution for guys that hate the effects of Caber, the only downside is winny's half life is shorter. 9 hrs. for oral and about
24hrs. for Injectable. Where as caber's half-life is somewhere in the ballpark of 63-69 hrs. So using Winstrol throughout an entire cycle to combat progestagenic effects is not ideal.

The mid-2000s was a positive inflection point, though brief, for the revitalization of AAS research and development, ushering in the prohormone and designer steroid era (e.g., THG, 4-diols, 19-nor-diols, 17α-methyl analogues, 1-Testo). Again, criminalization was the public policy response that followed until the 2010s experienced a revitalization of… basic testosterone!

Whereas testosterone treatment is associated with increased blood serum and brain levels of allopregnanolone and DHEA, synthetic AAS reduce them, along with their corresponding unconjugated forms and precursors (e.g., 17-hydroxypregnenolone, 5-androstene-3β,17β-diol, progesterone). So far I've not found a definite statement on whether or not neurosteroids cease with exogenous testosterone use or not. If I understand this quote correctly, exogenous test should not decrease allopregnenolone and dhea, right? I've read it's possible that when fully shut down through exogenous test, dhea and pregnenolone also shut down, which would be avoidable through HCG.

Is it individual, whether the neurosteroids decrease or not?
