6 week EPO cycle

Turning this Into a log to semi maintain. Last 3 weeks were 43, 42, 40 miles. This week, incorporating 2 weekly training sessions, rest easy and recovery paces. Dropped some weight, pace improved significantly.

One session is longer moderate pace, other is a 3 mile easy Tempo. Currently off epo, did order some more. Hoping to be smart about training and not run my hard runs, nor easy days too fast.

Anyways, will update this at times. Hoping to improve my pace per mile through my 2x weekly sessions.
 
Do you ever go to the track for speed workouts? 400s, 800s, etc...
No track available, I don't do that fast type workouts. I prefer long distance, and tempos or moderate over reps. I might incorporate some reps but at slower than Daniel's paces.
 
If you are able to have one speed session a week, I think you'd see improvement in your mile time. It would translate to your longer runs as well. If there's no track. Can you run your own intervals, fartleks? Sprint pole to pole.

Also, thanks for sharing your log. I'm always a runner first. It's hard to give up.

I dont know much about running, but dont they need to do deloads and take easy sessions too like strength/physique athletes? Maybe join a forum for runners and have them look over your programming for both running and other exercises/lifting you are doing.
Most runners do either 2-3 quality sessions a week, with the rest of the time spent running at low aerobic levels. I personally am a massive fan of the deload week, as rest is just as important for cardiovascular improvement as the work is itself.
