A Southern Yankee's Winter Blast

I been looking up some chest exercises better than the standard bench press. I fell across an article on fast/slow twitch fibers and the recruitment in various muscle groups. In order to take my tri's and shoulders out of my pressing movements im considering the guillotine press. Many consider it the best chest developer around. Remember im not a power lifter any more and benching with my elbows tucked is inferior for chest growth. Any body have experience with this exercise?

Also I been considering flaring out my elbows and doing low neck bench presses. Which can steer the growth in the right direction. Tips or help please. I believe I have short comings in my chest due to poor form (power lifting form). Mostly in the center of chest where the breast meat curls in. My outer chest is as thick as a 5 lb chuck steak. Like most taller bodybuilders I have a high chest. Look at most guys over 6' and you'll see what I mean.
Careful flaring your elbows, especially with the weight you can sling. It's hard on your shoulders, and over time could lead to serious injuries. Ask me how I know :( my shoulders have been shit for years, because when I starting lifting out of high school I flared my elbows and never knew any different. Now at age 43 my shoulders always hurt and I'm trying to make myself use powerlifting form and break my old habits, so I don't further my injuries.
 
Well the weight has to be sacrificed. I will likely start with 135. Alot of people get carried away pressing big numbers and their chest never grows.

I will also say I've had awesome growth will less weight than 300+ lb. Most guys wont do it tho cuz its too much a hit to the ol ego. Then they wonder why the guy pressing 135 is bigger than the guy doing 370. Must be genetics? No its called proper form. Again this is bodybuilding not power lifting
 
What does it mean to flaee your elbows?
Notice a guillotine press is done with elbows "flared" or sticking out perpendicular to the chest and pressing high near the neck

In the power lifting picture you'll see a typical power lifters form. Elbows sucked in close to the body and huge arc in the back. When they press they press as low as possible to help reduce the distance traveled.

Thats one birdy going bye bye lol. Atleast its not going to waste. When I used to work at walmart they would throw away 5-10 of those at a time along with everything else in the hot deli that didn't get sold. It use to make me sick when they wheel that full trashcan by me with all that good food an protein going to waste. What a shame!

Guess ill have to pay attention to my family again. Gonna fix some breakfast and take my dbol. Gotta drop the fam off at church cuz thats their thing then i hit the gym. These churches down south are the size of walmart and have ALOT of money put in to them. I never seen churches like this. Aw well they like it, not so much my thing tho.

Sweet sweet snake day and a sprinkle of shoulders since i missed a day this week. By back feels up to it and im gonna do it any way. Ill update the log after i work out.

Im also hoping to get some fishin done today. Its been a long time. Ive let this suburban hell take the country out of me. Thats gotta change
 
Just finished my shoulder/arms day. Sitting in sauna now sweating a bit.

I can believe how fast my shoulder presses are progressing. Today I did seated military press at 200x10 for 3 sets then started stripping weight off.
Shoulders:

Seated military press
Bent over dumbbell rear laterals
Standing laterals

Arms:

Preachers with ez curl bar
Cable curls

I added reverse push downs one armed as a change up in place of traditional push downs. The change really was good. Very good change.

20 min cycling. :)

Im coming in to my cardio glory. A fuckin terminator.

I tried sit ups got 1 set of 40 reps done then I had horrible stomach cramps. Not sure why but needless to say I stopped.

I know right. I mean shit give it to someone who is in need ya know. Greedy fn selfish ass people only looking out for the almighty dollar is what that's about. Its sickening bro an sad to think what we throw away an take for granted stuff that would save peoples lives from starvation.

I actually got fired from a cooking job for NOT throwing steaks and fried chicken away ; sorry no can do . The restaurant sucked anyway , and I blasted them on the internet . DONT FK WITH A MAD COOK ! :mad:

Damn you was to fast an couldn get it edited fast enough lol. I dont blame you one bit. Its hard to watch any food go to waste. Iam a stickler about saving food. Ill take it to work an give it away before trashing anything;):)

This dymatize powder just keeps surprising me. I love it. Bar none best powder I ever had. I got mint chocolate this time. Ive tried all the flavors so far except cookies n cream. Thats next;)

If i add milk to my mint chocolate powder it tastes just like thin mint girl scout cookies. Unreal! Its like its not even protein. Best of all only 1g sugar per serving!
