A Southern Yankee's Winter Blast

I agree. Although me and JB are two very different physiques I really admire what he has done. I wouldnt model my physique after his since we are so different. Mands is more or less similar to me. Thats why I always like tall bodybuilders.

Of course Arnold, Dennis Wolf, Kevin Levrone, Lou Ferrigno, etc etc

Kevin Levrone is a short shit like me. well he might be 5'8".

No levrone is 6'1 or at least I thought. They have him billed at 5'9, 5'10, 5'11. Lol I dont even know.

I saw in interview with him snd he was asked what a perfect mr O would look like and he says 6'1 about 290. I think thats always stuck with me and figured he was talking about himself. But you got me there HF

5/1/15 Back day. Sort of an abbreviated workout. No triceps today. I only had an hour to work the whole back. So lets get to it...

19 sets total
start with:

Seated Cable rows failure every set at 8 reps. Pinch and squeeze at the rear most furthest point. Making sure without doubt every fiber has been beaten in to submission. End every set at 8 not because I reached 8 but because I hear my own death rattle underneath my ear buds :)

90deg bent barbell rows. Wide grip pulled high to middle chest. Pinch and squeeze again. Thats the key for any back work IMO. Not really much weight. 95 lb including the bar.

Moving FAST now little rest. LETS GO!!!

45lb plate shrugs sets of 20. Pinch and squeeze trying to touch my ears. Weight isnt important here. What is important is fighting your way thru the burn. Theres a reason why I do 2 compound movements then work my way in to trap work. I find once the lats have been worked traps respond better. Very little rest is important. Keep tension on those traps. My wife says im borderline no neck now!!! She aint seen nothin yet

Next:
Hammer strength high pull. I like this exercise because of the arc and range of motion is much different than anything that can be achieved thru barbells or dumbbells. I like to pull 1 arm at a time. This allows me to be able to pull back further and hold the contraction better. Give it a try

Last:
Cable straight arm pulldowns. This is the ultimate burner for lats and traps! Use a bar with a slight curve in it not a straight bar. This allows you to pull further past your hips and really develop the upper back in places a STRAIGHT bar wouldn't allow. I do them kneeling or standing. Both are great.

Im motivated and psychopathic today. Great energy boost. I read some inspirational shit by Lee Priest last night. When im done with my back work your gonna need a fuckin step ladder to see around me. Bring it:mad:

What did you read?

Good motivation bro. I love seeing a video or reading something that just pushes you further. I recently watched generation iron just as I was starting to slip on things a bit, and holy shit did that get me re focused. Check it out if you have already man.

Oh ya rigs! Seen generation iron about a month back. And your right. Some times you have to be reaffirmed about your motivation and desires. Some times it could be some thing so simple

5/2/15 saturday

Me and the wife did arms&shoulders today. This would be my first day on my "new" arm program. Sadly I ran short on time and wasnt able to get all the volume work in that I would have liked. Also im still limited to which exercises I choose due to my wrist injury.

13 sets shoulders
10 sets triceps
10 sets biceps

Total 2 hours even and 33 sets

In this order

Smith machine upright rows
25lb plate lateral raises
hammer strength presses
machine rear laterals

Rope hammer curls (cable)
Rope pressdowns《ALL SUPERSETS》

Dumbbell curls alternating
Seated dumbbell extensions overhead《ALL SUPERSETS》

Cable one armed reverse pulldowns
Cable one armed curls《ALL SUPERSETS》

Alot of cable work. I cant do cambered bar or straight bar curls yet. The pain in my wrist is immediate. If I did fracture it I must of did a good job:)

I fucked my wifes titties this morning:D

I don't like doing shoulders on the same day I work tri's. While doing overhead Barbell press your tri's are already getting some good work on them.

I normally work
Chest
Back
Arms
Shoulders
*legs are done on stairmaster*

I would suggest more sets on back day. Try to get on the iso row and start with 3 plates each arm. Work your way up to 5 plates. I would also suggest 7-10 sets on seated cable rows, and 6-8 sets on wide grip lat pull downs. After that regular grip lat pull downs for 7-10.

Add MORE sets to the bi's and tris

:)

I'll get a new weigh in today...

I have to condense my workouts because in a perfect world id like to go 6 days a week. In reality its like 4. So often shoulders get worked with arms. Oh well gotta roll with the punches.

On back day I regularly do 20 sets a few more wouldn't hurt tho. I also work traps with lats. One other thing is I never swing my weight or use momentum. So weight will always be LESS. I build more dense muscle like this. I dont see myself doing 5 plates on one arm unless im throwing the weight. I can do 3 plates and with a full pull and pinch on the contraction.

I pull 5 plates with form. I just do 8 reps, because 10 will get sloppy at some point. Even 4 reps will work, as long as your form is good.

When I do rows, I do the exact same thing. Shoulder blades pinch together and pull. I hold each rep for 1 second. Stirring tall as I possibly can and never leaning back.

I do the same with curls also. I do lean back some in order to get a good stretch of the bicep.

Lastly, if you go 4 times a week, skip legs (do stairmaster) after your workout. Your legs are still going to get punished. So your on the stairmaster 4 days a week after workout.....hopefully that will get you ready for when you start your cut.

:)

I love what squats do for my legs. I dont think i could ever go full on bird legs. I cant skip legs bro. And when I cut it will be there for all to see. Im so excited. Its all there. Just hiding;)

We all did this. When I was In my teenage years thats all i did. I thought i was big shit. Didnt know any thing and wondered why i never got huge. I benched like every day. Curled everyday. Never squatted until the strength coach got after me. Lol. Looking back at the pics i just laugh now. I was the most muscular kid in my high school. Still wasnt shit :)

Phew, that's a weight off my back. Another biannual physical...PASSED!

blood pressure was perfect. They tried to get me for sleep apnea cuz of my 19" neck but it didnt take long for the old ass doc to see I was fine :)

Got my balls pinched by a 70 year old man...guess im g2g!

Bring on the cycle

Yeah 20's will make you look really good. I hate seeing big guys with no tri's or bi's..lol

I try to do
10-15 sets of
standing rope hammer cable curls
10-15 sets of
Wide grip curls
10-15 sets of
Close grip curls

8-10 set of
Tricep push downs
8 sets of
reverse grip single tricep extensions
10 sets of
Overhead tricep extensions.

*I'm pretty much at the cable machine section the whole time. I just now started to add dumbbell curls into the session also.*

I should be around 20 1/2 or 21 by Sept.

So I gave this a go tonight. Had it saved in my phone notepad as MG arms lol.

Holy volume. I basically split it into three giant supersets alternating back between bis and tris. I way underestimated the timing on this and had to leave about 2/3 through it all, but even just that definitely shocked my system. I'll hit it all the way through next time though, Thanks MG
