Im hoping Dr Scally may be able to shed some light on this topic for me.8 weeks ago i started a sustanon250 cycle at 500mg weekly.with adex .25eod.i had some irregular heartbeats a couple of times dutring the days i took my shot but nothing to signifigant.2 weeks ago the aahrythmias became more prolific and i switched to test prop initially pinning into my abdomen with insulin needles at 60mgs eod(alli had available at the time).i then switched to intramuscular shots 100mg EOD(with 23 gauge needles.,and thats when the irregular heart beats became problematic. Some history,am a generally healthy 40yr old male, dont smoke ever, have not consumed any alcohol for the last 3 months and it is the first time ive ever used steroids..i DO have a history of aahrythmia, and was hospitalised about 4 years ago for atrial fib,was placed on medication(metapropolol) a beta blocker.that seamed to sort the problemthe cardioligist did numerous tests any there was nothing conclusive other than i seam to have faulty wiring!?!?occaisional missed or rapid beats but no biggy.but the last few weeks, and particularly the last few days the irregular beats are very frequent and even though ive doubled my beta blockr meds(at the advice from a doctor) the irregular beats are coming more frequently and lasting longer. i have an appointment for a holter monitor next week, but am not enjoying the heart flutters much in the interim. Is it likely the tesosteront is agravating the prior condition and if so is there any way to counter measure it?im cutting my cycle short as i dont wish to further aggravate the condition, which is highly disapointing but seams like the only practicle option.any advice would be very much appreciated, cheers.

Let's see if I have this right: self-medicating, known history of arrhythmia, on beta-blocker . . .
Hmmmmmmmmm! Are you nuts??? Do you have a death wish????

If the AAS is aggravating a pre-existing heart condition I would stop!

What do you mean by "faulty wiring"? I am assuming some sort of mild arrhythmia but one not bad enough to justify an ablation?

well perhaps i am.To be more clear about the situation,i had an episode 4 years ago that prompted me to go to emergency.the cardiologist did various tests and prescribed a beta blocker which ive taken at a very low dose since.there was never talk of an ablation as it was deamed manageable with the low dose beta blocker.the arrythmias were rather infrequent sometimes only once or twice a week for a few seconds ,i went off the beta blocker with my GPs ok about a year ago with no problems regarding recurring aahrythmia, and recommenced it when i started the cycle to combat any issues with increased BP(which i realise can occur with aromatising AA,"S.) I didnt think the irregular beats would be an issue as ive yet to see that stated as a side effect and from the recent literature it seems that taking test is actually good for ones heart.
Im in good general health and the doctors found no physiological problems with my heart-hence the" faulty wiring" thats actually how the doc described it.he said it was very common in athletes and generally not something to worry about,so i wasnt till they restarted recently.i study martial arts and mountain bike so am in better shape than most 40yr olds, but yr right i probably should have discussed it with my gp,although what he knows about AA"S would fit on the head of a pin. So doctor, could you please explain why the test would cause the aahrythmia? thankyou for the input

You use the word arrhythmia loosly I am guessing. You know, a lot of heart issues come up around the age of 20(+/-). I was 19 and went to the doc because my heart felt like it was skipping a beat from time to time. The diagnosis was mitralvalve prolapse. I was a super athelete cardiovascularly at the time, and no family history. So I just could not understand or accept it. Not sure if correct the diagnosis was correct. I have had the ticker looked at since on occasion with a sound scope and the reported mitral valve prolapse was not evident . But the one thing I learned was that CAFFINE was the culpret. Its a really funny drug, and under estimated I think. I can take nicotine, amphetamines, whatever, but caffine will send my heart on the "Crazy dance". I was working somewhere at the time that gave me unlimited access to a fountain coke machine, and it was hot out, so I was drinking the shit out of it. I found out take away the caffine, and ZERO funny heartbeat. Let me ask you does your heart tend to only report when relaxing? Mine would really only act up when resting. That was what made it so alarming. No caffine, Try it.....

Your condition sounds similar in that you seem younger and fairly physically active. I am guessing you were lightly diagnosed at best. I mean, short of passing out and hitting the floor with regularity, what were they going to do test wise? I may be off here, as I never experienced "rapid" heart beats, just "flutters" and feelings of a missed valve closure like the heart suddenly depressurized, and then hit again.

These days at almost 40, If I go to some family occasion and suck down a pitcher of tea, I can get to feeling down right shitty, with general chest discomfort. But amphetamines and nothing!! Cut the caffine all together. If it is contributing, you will know if 4-7 days tops.

BBC this is the most coherent and well thought out post you have ever written. I am in awe.

He is right too. Caffeine, alcohol, and nicotine trigger my palpitations. It is not so much while drinking the alcohol but during the night and the next day. The one thing my anxiety disorder has been good for is really straightening me out as far as cigs and alcohol go. Back in late HS early college I was drinking 18+ beers a night plus two packs of cigs a night every time I'd go out. I could do that Thurs - Sat without a problem. Not anymore!!!
