About Texas

I grew up in San Antonio, mixed feelings about the place.

Back in my day it was extremely violent, but that was the 70's and 80's. Of course it's still ranked as one of the most violent cities in the US and that's why we left, that place was nuts, got into fist fights all the time, was hunted like prey in the street by the Cholo's, next door neighbor robbed and almost decapitated.

I believe in freedom, but I have no use for assholes who are violent, that's why Tx execution is a good thing, but it doesn't clean up these people fast enough.

Shut up and create another handle. No one wants to hear from some loser who spends his days creating handles to spew his anarchist agenda. Sorry cant take anyone's views seriously that does that with their life.

What difference would it make what one does with their life. Why would you care?

I'd take Tennessee over Texas any time. Lived in both, Texas for over 10 years, Tennessee for only 2 years. If I didn't have family in Texas I would never go back for anything. Even without family in Tennessee, I still would love to go back sometime.

What is it that you dislike about Texss and what is it that you like about Tennessee?

I was born in Houston. Moved when I was really young so I don't remember shit. Moved to Orlando for 6 years in my early to mid 20s. You get used to the heat fast. When I moved back up to Massachusetts in July of 07, I was walking around with a black hoodie on and had no issues. Everyone thought I was nuts. You absolutely get used to the heat.

If I was to move it would be Texas, Tennessee, Nevada, the Carolina's or Georgia, with Nevada being at the bottom of the list. Tennessee is also a long shot. I need the ocean in my life.

reading comprehension isn't a strong suit for you, eh? He spelled it out clearly. You're a jackass and he doesn't like you. Your opinions mean shit to him. Why would they hold weight anyway? The person posting them will scurry along like a roach that just got exposed to light and disappear behind yet another handle. Ghosting his own words and any semblance of credibility along the way. And don't pretend like you don't care. You wouldn't continue to act the way you do if you truly didn't care.

That is pretty close to my list. You can replace Nevada with Florida for me. Heading down to Houston in the next couple of weeks to scope out work and the area.

Houston’s traffic is fucking terrible along with never ending road construction. Most people live outside Houston, look at Sugarland, League City, Friendswood or Clear Lake. North of Houston, Woodlands, Conroe, Montgomery and Willis. Not a complete list by a long shot. Everything is about 3 hrs from Houston, fishing and gambling you have Louisiana, several lakes and the beach for fishing or boating. Some of the best hunting, deer, hogs, duck and dove.

I'm actually making the same move from NY. I can't stand being in this state any longer. I'm looking Into Houston, Austin ( not sure if I'll actually go there since I hear it's becoming more and more hipster and blue state-ish, feels pointless if im trying to leave that environment), Dallas but the housing seems smaller for the price points. Wish you the best man, time to leave these shitty states for good!

Corpus is a great place. Big but not too big.
Love the Corpus area. Bay Ltd. for highway construction.
San Antonio area is probably the best. Much easier to get around vs Dallas or Houston. The Rio Grande Valley is also nice. Great thing about South Texas is you are an hour or less away from great hunting, fishing and Mexico.

I was going to recommend Bay as a place of employment for him! Lots of work there. San Antonio is the same sans the salt water. Texas rocks. There is something for everyone here.

Yeah man I've lived here all my life. I've traveled around and spent time elsewhere, but I always call this home.

Working on it. My house goes on the market in a few days. Wish me luck. Cant wait to leave this shithole.
Don’t rule out Tennessee. No state income tax and 250k for home and land would be pushing 7 figures in a lot of the northeast states.
Nashville, Knoxville and Chattanooga are growing at a fast clip with a lot of opportunity. I’m pretty close to Knoxville and work in the electrical construction industry. I can definitely relate to your line of work. Good luck 88.

Well, with all this shit going on I am seriously considering leaving the peice of shit state of New Jersey. I'm going to take some time off this summer and travel to some places to see what's out there.

Im drawn to Texas. I know quite a few of you guys reside here. I do heavy highway construction or infrastructure. I'm a general superintendent for the past 10 years on some of the larger projects in the north east. Wherever I go I dont want to pick up and travel for work.

What places do you guys recommend. I'm looking for as much property and seclusion as possible. Unfortunately in my line of work I need to live near congested areas. I hope to keep my travel time under 1 hour.

Also looking at Tennesse. Any other suggestions? I want to move away from these liberals and gain some rights back. Plus move away from 10k+ property taxes and inflated cost of living. I want a better life for my kids.
Did you ever make it to TX? I’m in heavy highway also. In DFW area
