ACE Inhibitors

Need a source for ACE Inhibitors like Enalapril (Vasotec). Helps protect the heart against left ventricle remodeling when using AAS.

Ventricular “remodeling” is a natural response to exercise while LVH is not, the distinction requires continued follow up and or imaging such as ECHO and or in some cases MRI.

That being said since, according to the AHA, an ACE or an ARB are the DOC for many w HTN.

Nonetheless as fluid retention is common to AAS users a diuretic is often helpful and should be considered, in conjunction w an ARB\ ACE should the latter fail to control BP.

Yah, sorry. I meant left ventricular hypertrophy.

So you're saying just to schedule regular echocardiograms and MRIs to try to get a picture of what is going on before using an ACE Inhibitor or Angiotensin II receptor blocker?

Why wait until your blood pressure is higher than normal or until something looks wrong on imaging?

Supposedly co-administration of ACE Inhibitors with AAS prevents the LVH from occurring in the first place:

Nandrolone’s Negative Effects On The Heart COMPLETELY ELIMINATED By Using This Medication!?

So those who are using AAS yet succumb are only missing an ACE, hardly.

While other factors are at play, a BP of less than 140/90 is critical as a means of limiting LVH w or wo AAS
