Hi everyone,

Which steroid compounds have you found to be the least problematic in terms of acne?

Dosage and frequency?

Thank you all

Accutane. 40mg ed

Prone to acne? Keep E2 in check at all times especially during PCT. Least amount of homones the better chance you’ll have of not triggering a massive breakout, so moderate dose test. Know how to deal with cystic acne because that will be your main enemy. If you are naturally oil I’d recommend African black soap but others like liquid dishwashing soap.

And to support icky, Accutane or generic will help reduce LNG term effects and limit the amount of sebum production for all future cycles.

If you are seriously prone to acne I’d recommend 6 months now of low dose Accutane prior to your cycle to severely limit the effect sebum will have on you.

Thank you guys

I already took Accutane before and it fucked me hard...

I got erectile dysfunction at 19 and I still have issues at 27. My testosterone stayed around 200-300 ng/dL for those years but didn’t start TRT till last year. I’m guessing the mechanism of Accutane is similar to Finasteride, AKA hindering 5 alpha reductase enzyme from converting testosterone into DHT?

My DHT also came back on the low side.

I was acne prone on my face, but since I took Accutane years ago I never get them on my face. Now I’m breaking out like crazy on my body which never happened in the past.

I’m guessing all steroids worsens acne to an extent?

What level of estrogen have you found to be the “sweet spot” for yourself?

Do you know if testosterone to estrogen ratio is a huge factor when it comes to acne?

I think everyone is different. My crazy flare up didn’t start until PCT because my Clomid wasn’t pharma grade and my E2 got out of hand. Don’t know how high as I didn’t take blood during that period. The cystic acne got so bad it got infected and multiplied like crazy. Took 4 months to clear and I now have permenant scarring.

My sweet spot now is based on a few factors. My emotional state, reminiscing about old times or just being plain ole hopeless romantic will tell me to increase my dosage. Acne is another early indicator. If I start seeing flare ups I know daily AI usage will bring it back in line. Bloating is the last. If for some reason ignore the first two, the bloating will tell me.

Holy fuck that sounds bad. I don’t have much cystic...just looks like regular acne but for some reason, they leave lasting hyperpigmentation. No shallow scarring thankfully.

Increase what dosage, the AI? I remember being a hopeless romantic all the time lol, but now I’m just a depressed fuck.

I read on excelmale that estrogen is independent of bloating and acne, but not sure how valid those statements are

Have you heard of Nizoral shampoo for acne? I wanted to try that but heard it will block DHT, which I don’t want

How many lesions are you getting? Are you sure it’s not folliculitis? If so you’d want to avoid shit that’ll irritate the skin/follicles. Depending on how bad it is I’d recommend going with topical antibiotics like Clindamycin and or Bactroban/Mupirocin, works great for me but I don’t get a whole lot. I’d recommend getting benzoyl peroxide 10% wash and using an antibacterial soap like hibiclens twice a week, and use topical retinoids in place of oral accutane. But yea the derm can be helpful. I got a box full of shit from my derms lol.

Also nizoral if it actually makes a difference re hormones when used topically it will be limited to the surface. Ketoconazole when taken orally will suppress and lower testosterone but will not reach circulation topically. But it is an antifungal, acne or folliculitis can be caused by yeast but most of the time it’ll be bacterial if it’s caused by a germ. Head n shoulders might help because it’s antifungal and antibacterial, maybe antiviral not sure.

Appreciate it bro. Surprisingly my acne and hyperpigmentation looks better within the last two days for some reason. I am using Nizoral shampoo, salicylic body wash, and hydroquinone for the dark spots.

Time to blast other steroids! Jk lol
