Age 40 3 1/2 into first cycle.......

First, I want to say thanks to the guys that post regularly on this site. Guys like Role Model, Big Bench and many others make a difference for guys like me. This is the board where I feel most comfortable. The guys on this board have been patient in responding to my basic questions. I have also learned things I did not even know to ask by reading various threads. That being said.....this is where I am today after 3 1/2 weeks into m first cycle. 10 week Cycle > 300 Test E 1xweek > 200 Deca 1xweek. I dropped 50 a day of Winstrol for now. I was feeling spaced a little and believe it was the Winstrol that was causing it. It came from a compounding pharmacy. My head is clear since I stopped. I took the Winstrol for almost 3 weeks. I might try the it again, but instead of taking 50 a day, I will try 50 every other day. I am 5'9" 180 lbs. I have gain some muscle and strength over the past 3 1/2 weeks. I am leaner, but want to be even leaner. My sex drive has gone through the roof and I have enjoyed that more than my wife. I have been satisfied so far into this cycle. Muscle mass is secondary to leanness for me. I want to gain significant muscle, but I do not want to blow up big. My caloric intake has gone up very little. I do have PCT ready to go. I am currently going through a doctor to administer this first cycle. The Doctor was recommend by a friend and has been helpful, but expensive. I feel confident in taking over my own "therapy" next go around. At age 40, I assume once I start down this path, it is for life. I like the way I feel and I am starting to see results. Most importantly, I want to do it safely and keep it going. I am thinking I can achieve and maintain what I am going after with 3 10 week cycles, plus 3 two week post cycles a year or do you guys think 4 cycles a year is necessary. I am 40 and my goals are to have more energy, be leaner, add and maintain a little muscle mass. I feel like doing this gives me a little bit of an edge. I feel a little younger. I have worked out for 20 years and I am ready for a little help the rest of the way. I would appreciate any comments. I guess there is not really a direct question in this post. I just wanted some feed back on where I was. Thanks and please pardon the long post. Brent

Well, if you think you are feeling it now, just wait two more weeks. It is going to get even better. You can try cutting your winstrol in half to take just 25mgs a day. Try that at the end of the cycle while you are waiting for the test and deca to clear and you start your PCT. As for keeping your muscle, you will be able to retain a large portion of it when you come off. Dont think that just because you stop taking this that you will lose everything. You will not need to do 3 or 4 cycles a year. You can do one or two and be fine. Now, if you think that you want to STAY this way, then maybe you could talk to your doc about HRT and be on test for life, but that is a different story. As far as the energy, you can get one some good vitamins, b complex, gensing, green tea, etc... to get energy levels up. Or you could get something from your doc to increase adrenal levels. (much easier than HRT). But, enjoy this cycle out and see how things are after all said and done and decide what you want to do after that.

Bigkarch - The posts intent was to explain where I am at 3 1/2 weeks into my first cycle in relation to my goals. I stated my personal specs., cycle specs., and how things seem to be progressing. This is my first cycle and I was looking for feedback based on that information. I included the trouble areas (not a good tolerance for Winstrol. It made feel "spaced out"). I explained my preliminary plan after my first cycle is completed (future cycles) and I wanted to know if I am going down the right path and what suggested adjustments should I make. BigBench's response was very helpful. I am currently doing this cycle through a Doctor, but I am strongly considering taking over my future cycles personally, due to the expense of the Doctor and because I am confident I could do it myself based on what I have learned.

*Age 40 5'9" 180 lbs.
*Goal > Leanness, energy, increased sex drive, some muscle mass
*Cycle > 300 Test E and 200 Deca 200 1xweek. I discontinued Winstrol 50 1xday due to reason stated above. I was going to consider taking Winstrol 50 every other day. BigBench suggested reducing the amount to 25 a day towards end of cycle. I will do that, but the Winstrol comes from a compounding pharmacy and is 50, so I plan to do 50 every other day toward the end of my cycle because that is as close as I can get to Bigbench's suggestion based on what I have in my stock.

After 3 1/2 weeks, i am modestly leaner, slightly stronger, more energetic, significantly increased sex drive. My caloric intake has not increased very much.

My testosterone levels where average before I started the cycle. I have worked out for twenty years and felt like I wanted a little help. I do not want to blow-up, but do want to add some muscle. Health Safety is a concern

Questions - Based on the above information:
*Am I on the right track in relation to my goals and the described progress I have made through 3 1/2 weeks?
*Once I go down this path I assume I will have to do it forever to keep the physical and emotional benefits?
*My thoughts are, I would need to do at least 3 cycles a year maybe 4 to maintain the leaness, energy, sex drive, etc. Bigbench said I could probably do it with two cycles and maybe even one. My thoughts are, I could keep my modest physical goals on 2 cycles, but maybe not the energy, younger feeling edge. Should I do 2 robust cycles a year or 4 modest cycles a year to achieve my above stated goals? I have looked into HRT and I want more that. I love to train and at age 40, I decided to get a little help.

Well, like I said, the results you are seeing now are nothing to what you will be seeing in a few weeks. After about two weeks the difference in what you feel is going to be insane. HRT will not give you the same feeling you have now, but as far as sex drive and energy, it will. And as far as gaining more muscle, a LOT of guys on HRT do cycles periodically throughout the year and such. After this cycle if you keep the cals up and workouts hard, then you will keep a lot of your muscle. Also, at your age its going to benefit you a lot. As you get older the bodies ability to maintain size is greatly increased so you wont have to worry about a freakishly high metabolism trying to burn off your new muscle. How much weight have you gained so far? You can easily gain 15lbs of muscle after all is said and done. Also, the leaness will come from your diet so try to eat as clean as possible. Cutting out alcohol, sugars, dairy, and maybe cutting back on carbs in general. Take in enough for fuel, but not so much you smooth your body out. Also, if the winny is 50mg TABS, then you can cut them in half with a razor blade. It would be much more beneficial to do ED vs EOD.
 
BigBench - I have been on a low-carb diet for about a year and it has made a big difference. My Doctor said I was on my way to being a diabetic. My blood sugar issues completely went away when I cut out the carbs. I am in ketosis virtually all the time. I have more energy and feel better. Before I went sugar and bread free, I would get heartburn and jock-itch regularly. I no longer suffer from either of those conditions. My cholesterol has improved as well. I eat lots of green vegetables, protein and do not run from fat. I feel great. I know low-carb diets are controversial, but it has worked for me. I am excited about the next few weeks. I have gained a few pounds of muscle so far. I have been unable to make any real progress in recent years despite max effort, so this is nice. i am pleased with my progress so far, my expectations were reasonable when I started, so I think I will be happy with the results. The winney I have comes from a compounding pharmacy in a capsule and cannot be split. The pharmacy puts it in the capsules onsite. I was concerned about that, but after researching compounding pharmacies, I learned they are fairly common and safe. My head has cleared since I discontinued the winney, so I am not sure what to think. I am going to Jamacia 4-1 with my wife for a week for my 40th birthday. I am excited about where my progress will be at that time. I feel good about my increased sex drive so far, especially since I am going on the trip. I like your idea of maybe HRT with a couple of cycles mixed in. I put the work in at the gym and would like a little extra benefit for that work. I will sit back and enjoy my first cycle and assess the situation as things progress. it has been exciting so far. Thanks Brent
 
Im glad everything is going well for you in all. This cycle should just be the icing on the cake for you. And as long as you are not on an INSANELY low carb diet, then its not a big issue. And the intake of healthy fats def makes it more tolerable. You seem to have everything down that you need and you are really going to be happy by the end of this cycle.
 
your fine bro....as said by bb...the next several weeks wil be better...also watch the real low carb diet for long periods...I can understand sugar and high glycemic carbs....have you tried to eat carbs that are low on the glycemic index....
