Alcohol before the gym.

Sipping on a Truly (spiked seltzer) before heading to the gym. Wondering what effect that blood thinning will have coupled with a vasodilator on getting a pump. Obviously not something you should do on a routine basis. I imagine i'm not going to have the same level of focus. I read Frank Zane would have a beer at dinner time but i'm not sure if that was prior or post workout. On a side note, the weed smoking at my gym is getting ridiculous. Not sure what the benefit is from that but the smell is awful.

Alcohol has been shown to absolutely crush protein synthesis, so drinking beforehand is counterproductive.
 
There was a boxer I think don't quote me on that who said a beer and aspirin was best. Only time I heard anyone mentioning booze before working out this was 20 years plus
 
Didn't Arnold and Franco stories about taking weights, a keg, and food to the beach for the day, and just eating, drinking, and lifting for hours?
Send Arnold a DM and see what he says about it.
 
What if its everday?
I have wine with 1st dinner every day. A glass or so (a reasonable one!!) I work out once early am once in the afternoon. Dinner about 2 hrs later. Then a 2 HR separation before evening protein.

Yes you loose a lot of your bodies protein synthesis for a bit after a drink......maybe a hour or 2. For me at least it doesn't make a huge difference.

No booze on blast though lol!!!

So I shouldn't be mixing my pre work out with 4 loco?
 
What's the point? You ain't drinking enough to catch a buzz and what you are trying to do can be done calorie free with a pill

I used to drink everyday and have a decent routine I stuck to also. Definitely a reduction in focus, and everything else across the board. Probably around 25% or more drinking everyday.


Also more health related problems arise. I have a fast metabolism and that was the only time in life 36 years that I have gained real fat. I ran high tren and test.

Sober its way more productive imo, just have a drink on Friday or Saturday on a rest day.

Are you on test? You’re gonna need it after drinking that shit

Never drink before lifting, there are a multitude of reasons not to do it and absolutely zero reasons to do it.
