alternatives to methanol?

I was thinking there must be something better and less nasty that can dissolve test prop and not estrodiol. Like how about ether. Gotta bottle sitting around that I'd like to used for something other than pouring on sidewalk and watch burn. I don't know if theres enough left. Seems like no matter how tight you seal it the damn stuff still evaporates. It seems like the bottle is losing like a 1/4 inch a year or something. I just really hate using anything that I'm not sure is pharma grade. Like would 90% rubbing alc work? Heet is just plain hazardous. What else would work?

What's wrong with methanol? Don't breathe it and evaporate it over vacuum filtration if possible and there will be zero residual methanol in your final product.

By the way, methanol is about twice as polar as diethyl ether, so you may not get the same results trying to dissolve the highly polar propionate. For that matter, though, I can't really tell looking at propionate vs estradiol which is more polar. I would expect methanol to solvate them both.
