No shakes, no hangovers, no blacking out, no morning drinks. Just a few at lunch and then maybe 1 at night. The concern is that I need to stop so I can cut weight better but I can't seem to stop completely. Most people say that if you can have just 1 or 2 you dont have a problem.... and that's why for so long I didn't think I had a problem. Even my wife who isn't a drinker says me going to AA "would be stupid"
But deep down inside, I know I need to stop. I would like to get to the point that I can just have a few on the weekend while barbecuing and 0 drinks monday-thursday. That'll be my priority this month.
No Alcohol August
Let's see how long it lasts.
Approach this like "pre" show prep. Typically a month before the actual diet begins you'll start removing things you can't have a little at a time. Some of it gets replaced with stuff you can have but some just gets removed.
So start with every EOD for instance. No drinks at all every other day no matter how bad it sucks or who offers or what the situation is. Gradually you go two days and so on. Or start with 1 day off (no drinks) 2-3 days on. Whatever you can manage.
The point is to draw a line in the sand that you must enforce for yourself with no exceptions. Be successful at it, then build off that success. If that doesn't work then you may need outside help regardless of what those around you think.
