I think I may intimidate my daughters bf a little. In the basement I have 2 locked rooms. 1 is full of ammo and the other has a 50cal that is too big to fit in my 6’ safe.

Reading all these posts is really funny. I'll be a father one day hopefully... If I deal with any difficulties with a child's significant other, I'll come right out and say it.

If they're texting while talking to me. I'll say, "hey put that phone down we're having a discussion" say it politely with a smile.

Be there friend, and support them. But also let them distinguish the difference between you and there other friends. Rather be a leader in there life if you can.

Update: kid hasn't been back since. I talked to my stepdaughter about how rude it is to act that way in my house and she basically told him if he wants any future with her he's going to have to learn to speak to me. She's been spending far less time with his dumb ass and more time with her friends. She actually understood me and sided with me when I spoke to her about it. Good, I hope the fucker stays away and she finds someone with a god damn personality!!!

Alot of highschool kids have a low IQ these days. And no personality, blame there environment, they're pretty much set up to stick there head in a phone all day. They don't know how to act, or what life's even about.

why not tell the little fucker to just talk. tell him you want to hear his opinion. tell your step daughter you want him engaging in conversation or you find it rude. 2 fuckin years... jesus christ lol. who the fuck does this kid think he is? if your daughter cant relay the message to him and get him to respond differently i would just tell your daughter he's not welcome in this house. but you probably should of done that at the 3-6 month mark

that could possibly push her away, though. Obviously i dont know her, but teenage kids think theyre in love, and i would hate to see it cause a problem with her and her dad's relationship. Im going through a similar situation myself.. Best of luck, bro!!
