In short.
I took the time to make an account just to thank the people who supplied such great information and advice in this thread. You guys not only prevented me from doing a cycle with more cons than pros, but stopped me from doing AAS prematurely (if ever).
In long.
I have been lifting for ~15months and have put on ~1lb/month during that time. My diet is subpar and I use protein, creatine, and preworkouts. Recently a friend, who is a beginner weightlifter, started a Anavar only cycle against my advice (of protein + creatine = big gains for beginners).
I recently fell ill and lost 5+lb and notable strength which I haven't been able to gain back 2 weeks later. Frustrated at 5 months of muscle gains apparently lost I inquired into the AAS he was using which happened to be Anavar which lead me to this thread.
After reading the great advice from users (notably Strech,TrainHard and sgt.Jarhead) as well as the cycle log supplied by Crowe, I gained enough information to prevent me from wasting my time/money and taking unnecessary health risks by starting an Anavar only cycle. Also I gained valuable information which I will pass to my friend to help him prevent negative side effects.
I realize now my gains will come back soon enough, I just need to get serious about my nutrition. Just sucks looking noticeably skinnier than I usually am.
