Androgel And Propecia

I'm 63 and have been taking a generic androgel called testim. I have also injected 200mgs Deca for ten weeks cycle. Hair loss has increase. I use Monoxidol and would like to add Propecia. I know Prop. blocks DHT but will it cancel out all the test????

Propecia will not cancel out the test. The way it works is by preventing test to conver into DHT. However, it doesn't sound like you're hair loss is related to dht but rather related to whatever the deca is converting to in your body. I would guess "progesterone." If you want to stop the hair loss, quit taking the deca IMO.

I have read that you should not use a 5-AR inhibitor such as Propecia (finasteride) with Deca. I cannot remember why (anyone?) but there is a pathway that ends up leading to more hairloss (I think). Is it dihydronandrolone (DHN)?

In fact, I do not want guys using Deca OR finasteride anyway.

I have been working with an international group of several hundred men who have had their lives destroyed by taking finasteride.

I have begun stocking a topical ketoconazole/spironolactone shampoo. Anyone who tells me they are going to use finasteride is welcome to buy some from me, if that will keep you from poisoning yourself with finasteride.

Testim is not a generic Androgel. Many Pharmacists call it that by mistake. Actually, it is basically Androgel with an emolient (decapentalactone) added.

I'm dissapointed in the bad news about Deca. Took it because it was anabolic and less androgenic i.e. Shrinking hairline and shrinking balls!

Is Testim as effective as Androgel? does the emolient make a difference. Actually Andro is easier to use - testim tubes are stiff.

propecia prevents deca from converting to a weaker androgen,DHN. Normally,DECA converts to DHN which has virtually no effect on the hair. when propecia is used,the cinversion does;nt take place.

Well, since receiving the above replies I am dropping the Deca. I have been taking two tubes of testim a day 1% test 50mgs a tube. One tube after showering at end of morning workouts (4 days a week) and one in the evening. I had been injecting 200mg Deca every Tues. on a ten week cycle.I consume as much Protien as I can especialliu right after a workout. I also take about 5g of creatine, Nitrix or an other brand of nitro booster. Both these volumize and expand the muscle cells cdreating more power and pumping nutrients into the cells. I also take Zinc, E,C and multi vits.

Workouts breakdown into arms days chest days legs and back. Frankly my chest tends to be hardest to grow so I concentrate on that the most.

Swale - Packaging fore testim sugests 6 hrs before showering. Andro says two hrs. Does one really have to wait that long. Can one reapply next dose over old application or does one have to wash old app off first. Thanks.

Dang, after a long day, I could go for a sample or two right now!

Sometimes I am reminded that I have to watch everything I write hear with you animals.

With either product, if you HAD to shower or swim within an hour, you'd probably be alright. But I would not do it every day.
