Anybody read any good books about stuff other than training/nutrition?

One book that stuck with me since our class had to read it in Jr high was George Orwell's - "Animal Farm". It's a story about how government corruption takes over a society.

Also I haven't read it yet but Plato's - "The Allegory of the Cave" looks really good. It's about the impact that education has on the human mind and soul.

I've always been kind of fascinated by stuff that really gets you thinking about life, spirituality, the world, etc.

After all, what compliments a strong body better than a strong mind?

I love to read and I read books from authors such as John Grisham, Tom Clancy, James Patterson. Good way to pass time.

I was an avid reader until recently. With working two jobs, training, meal prepping and trying to have somewhat of a life all I want to do in my downtime now is just lie around. I am waiting on a new Brandon Sanderson book to come out later this year that'll probably spark my reading addiction.

I usually have two or three books on the go simultaneously. I think there's a thread on here about this already.

I like classics, but am getting into newer authors. Currently reading 100 years of solitude by Gabriel Garcia Marquez, for the second time

Musashi by Eiji Yoshikawa is what I'm reading right now. It's fucking fantastic if you are in to samurai lore, feudal Japanese history and the man Musashi Miyamoto himself. It's a mix of fiction and historical record. Great read.

One of my favorite book of all time is 'Alas Babylon' by author Pat Frank. Read the Wiki review I've provided a link for below...

Alas, Babylon - Wikipedia

I assure you won't be able to stop reading this book!

It ya like animal farm check out 8 o'clock in the morning. Short story, but very good.
The movie "they live" is loosely based off of it.

I read a book by Rudyard Kipling as a kid, seemed like standard kid stuff.

Read the book as an adult and it was like a big metaphor for deep state, fall of colonial empire type thing.

Fascinating how a book can have different meanings based on yr current knowledge.

I like war books and espionage, or spys.

Brad Thor is an amazing author who has lots of books out. Chapters are relatively short so the book seems to fly by.

Atlas Shrugged is a novel written quite some time ago, but it has a plot similar to what is going on in the world to this very day.
