Ass to grass vs. Parallel squats

I second that, im just getting over a deadlifting injury...no more deadlifts for me...only rack pulls
Oh, I hear ya. I don't ever go over 315 with deads. I actually stick around 225/275 for 12 reps. And I don't set it down completely. Let the 45's touch the mat barely, back up. Slow and controlled.

Not good news, i think its a herniated disc too...i was only warming up with 225 when i did it, 455 is my 1rm
Join the club. I havent had surgery. I dont plan on it either. I ride out the "flair" ups and deal with it. Guys give me shit about not dead lifts. But nothing is untrue about what I say. If they ever have the misfortune of dealing with this life long injury to the extent I have. Their tune would change I promise

That blows.

I am in my mid forties, I have lighten up on the weights (most days). I decided to slowed things down and go more for the stretch and contraction of the movement. It has help with nagging injuries (delts/knees).

When it gets manageable again do back twists and bridges and stretching exercises for the lumbar. It helps alot cuz some times I cant even watch tv without being in pain

@tubesox Yea thats not good. You A. have to shut down completely or B. Go find a pain clinic and a Dr. who specializes in back and get a cortisone shot. I have been there you keep going it will progressively get worse. I messed up once and went on Norcs for 3 months continued to go about life as usual that was a bad idea.

Its been about 2 months and feels okay now, was able to do powercleans yesterday
I forgot you just started to become an old man :). I t happened the first time to me int my early 30's then it seemed like I would reinjure it again 3-4 years later but each time the window on how long it was before injuries decreased and recovery took longer. I am now around to 1 injury a year and 4-6 months recovery. So need less to say I dont squat or dead anymore. I am very careful putting dumb bells back and I always stretch before any strenous exercise or sports. It sucks Tube you will be fine just remeber you are getting older. Sometimes on cycle we forget that shit and when you come off you jack yourself up.

I always go atg when doing squats because it feels good but to be honest I wish I could just go parallel. Atg makes it hard to get into a rhythm and keep constant tension on my legs as oppose to parallel, but Parallel required too much attention for me

I'll never grow up!
