BcBuilders April 2023 show prep

65 mins a day, 32.5 mins fasted am and then 32.5 post training, all steady state on stairmaster
You've got a ton of headroom there before it gets excessive. If the goal is better, then crank it up. 60 fasted 30 later in the day. If you're happy with where you're at then that's your decision to make.

Well, you very obviously would know better than me, tomorrow morning will be 60 minutes fasted and 30 post training. I appreciate you and @Evom1 for your input

Current shape at 2 weeks 3 days out, pretty happy with where I'm at, could have some thinner skin though. 2 more weeks to cut water, shred the last bit of fat. Currently on like 1500 calories a day. I'd add it up for you all but I really just can't manage to think too ahead between meals, so instead I'll give my meals, training days (1-5)
1st meal, 40g protein, no carb, 15g fat, meal 2, 40g protein, 10g carb and no fat 3rd meal, 40g protein, 25g carbs, 15g fat
4th meal, 40 g protein, 35g carbs, no fat
5th meal, 40g protein, no carb, 15g fat
I would cut those fats down. Drop it down by 10-15 grams and just do protein and greens with the no carb meals. It will suck but do that for last 10 days before peak week and I bet you will see some rapid changes along with the extra cardio recommendation. You can move carbs around workout or before it to help with getting through it. @Evom1

Noted, I will make sure i can handle this cardio increase and then look at pulling from there next, already so uncomfortable what's a little more? Lol

Keep on it man. Get the first one under your belt to know what you are capable of and what you might need to do next round.

How does your posing routine feel?

Side note, try to keep the environment for your check in photos consistent. (time of day, lighting, etc)

Discomfort is the name of the game.

I'd normally not recommend a cardio bump so big but with only a couple weeks left it's time to go.

Note that pushing harder now requires more discipline in the rebound/time post show to avoid blowing up with adema and fat gain.

Most competitors never truly push to get stage lean and never maintain their discipline post show. Do both and you'll at a minimum expand your capacity to suffer for a goal.

@BCBuilder the two guys I tagged who chimed in are both very successful high level bodybuilders, both pros. You can check out their logs on here.

Definitely have a lot of respect for them so if you think you've got it in you, apply their advice and kill it in two weeks man!!!

1k sign up fees say no. No point now, this is my first show, and my baseline. My plan is to only improve from this point. I may not be where I want to be but I'm learning the process for next time. I didn't enter this show to win, I entered it to prove to myself I can do a prep, no offense taken, just gotta keep pumping the cardio and hope dehydration tightens me up plenty. If I was stepping onto an ifbb stage or my 10th show it would be different, but I think for myself I need to just keep riding it out
This is why it’s not a good idea to sign up for a show and pay in advance. You can literally sign up for a show a week before.

Also not trying to be rude at all but I agree you’re not really looking like you’re 2 weeks out from a show.

There’s not a ton left to do the last 2 weeks, imo you should be stage ready before 2 weeks out and then you’re just dialing in the final touches the last few weeks. Nothing magical happens during that time.

Use it as a learning experience for your next show.

This was one of the reasons I had initially asked if you had a coach, I wasn’t trying to come in here and rain on your parade by telling you you’re not on track timeline wise.

Use it as a learning experience for your next prep and prepare better in advance before signing up for the show date

Well gents, I'm happy with what I have done. Stepping on stage tomorrow and I'm incredibly proud of what I have achieved in the past 15 weeks. Today was a low of 216 and as I continue to carb I continue to be impressed by my fill out. I will post a more detailed update tomorrow after I compete, but win or lose I'm proud to say I worked my ass off and I am thankful to people like @Evom1 and @Mac11wildcat and the countless others that have given me advice and given me reality checks when required20230422_165315.jpg20230422_203320.jpgSnapchat-1685214885.jpg

I just had Ron (head Olympia judge) mouth great genetics to me as I finished my posing for my junior showing. First run of three shows done, they kept me towards the middle, I will have more pictures to post after the show finishes, but from what I can tell I'm doing quite well. I have one one of my classes and I gave a good feeling I'm taking at least 2

Found a new coach, we are now moving on to rebound and growth for a subsequent show this time next year. Plan is slight surplus, lower test dose, get to a healthier state with less stress while building tissue with the rebound, then 6 months of growth and then move into show phase again is the broad plan moving forwards. I want to thank all of you for helping me see further than the first show. This is a stepping stone, the cost of entry
