Ok, I am absolutly shocked!!!
I was on metacritic today, and I see all this buzz about Loretta Lynn's new album. I think to myself.. Baahh.. What can a 68 year ol has been have to sing about that is so great (Mind you, I usually despise country and western music). However, Jack White of the White Stripes produced the album for her and even sings on a couple of tracks with her... A very odd mix (in case you guys don't know, the white stripes are one of the best bands to come out this decade...very intelligent and very original stuff..not the typical B.S. that comes from one of the big 3's labels) ... So it peeks my curiousity as to what this album may actually sound like.. I move on and think nothing more about it till tonight.
Well, I decided (out of boredom) to download a couple of her songs off of good ol' winmx... I started listening to her music.. And I was blown away.... I kid you not (and mind you, I hate country and western music as a general rule) I can't stop listening.. Some of the most intelligent and gritty music lyrics combined with that raw right out of the studio sound that comes with Jack whites Signature Guitar.. Make for one of the best albums (country or any other Genre for that matter) that I have heard in a very very long time.
I still can't get over this!! Hell, I'm even shocked with myself... I'm going out first thing tomorrow and Buying this CD. I absolutly love this album...
