Blood Pressure, an Experiment

Been watching this thread. I'm on a heavy (for me) cruise and my bp has been going up. Hit 140 over 77 two days ago. I took 5mg Cialis the last two days and it was 118 over 80 today. I'm going to keep a close eye on it. I have other meds if needed.

Thanks for sharing this. I've been doing similar at 100-125mg/wk. And even thinking about dropping a little lower.

Did that study on trans men make you curious about how little weekly TRT dosage men need? Or was it @Type-IIx's suggestions about dosages with least risks?

It's all leading me to wonder about this - bodybuilding with the minimal needed TRT for same results.

I appreciate you going in this direction when it seems the trend is for TRT of 200-400mg/wk as therapeutically-justified since bodybuilders all happen to be extreme "outliers".
With respect to dosage:

annual physical, doc asked for blood tests

75 mg once a week (Juicepal testosterone cypionate)

Because I had blood tests scheduled for the day after injection, I skipped my injection on day seven (once a week). Bloods drawn on day 8.

431 ng/dL, range 250-1100 ng/dL Total

104.0 pg/ml, 35-155 pg/ml Free

I am pretty careful about measurement, but not too precise, since I have been using a 3cc syringe, but draw 3 ticks (250mg/ml x 0.3 = 75), so it can only be so far off.

I was a little surprised that it was still so high 8 days out.

Thanks for posting this. A realistic TRT dose. 100 mg/wk alleviates symptoms of hypogonadism in most men. Plus it's easier to measure and still no side effects compared to 75 mg/wk.

Meso has normalized "TRT" to mean a lot of things: anything up to 200 mg/wk which is only considered TRT by TRT clinics.

200 mg/wk is side effect territory. TRT is theoretically supposed to be for life and who tf wants to be dealing with side effects for life?

On a positive note, my bloodwork looks good. The only exception is RBC and hematocrit. 17.1 is the cutoff, and I am at 17.2

LOL

Missed it by this much.

I donated double reds about a week before this, too.

Strange, 17.1 is not even that high. I believe guys who live in higher attitudes areas that’s actually somewhat normal range for them.

It’s definitely a bit high for most of us and If you donate more frequently, take grape seed extract and ip-6 to get it lower your bp will drop.

When my blood pressure creeps up I actually use it as an indicator that I need to donate. I’m actually fortunate enough that I can donate as frequently as I wish since my doctor writes a note for the blood bank each year to let me do so. I definitely don’t donate as much as I should.

Is your hemo typically high while just taking trt? Mine is.

13.2 - 17.1 is the range for hemoglobin.

I do not know who is in the 13s . . . LOL

I am almost always in the 17s and have been much, much higher to the point I had to drain my own blood several times to get the blood donation folks to take me again.

38.5-50 is hematocrit range (that's just a percentage), and 51.4 here, again just out of range high

Sorry for some reason I misread your post earlier. I saw “17.1 and cutoff” and took it as they wouldn’t let you donate with that score. Reading back, no earthy idea how I misinterpreted that lol.

My trt dose of 150mg alone puts me at a hemo score of 51ish and if I’m not drinking enough water or consuming too much red meat and not donating regularly I’ve seen it get much higher. I hate that it affects me like that as it doesn’t seem to do that to most. It greatly affects my bp.

I think the cutoff for donating is more like 19, and, yeah, I have been above that in the past when running a cycle.

I simply meant above the reference range on the blood test I am running for general health to keep an eye on myself. Doing the 80% effort to look out for health and longevity.

Don't take this the wrong way, but you are not 19 years old. The red blood cell thing is associated with steroids and positively corelated with age.

Yes, TRT only and no AI. Had not thought about HCG.
At that E2 I would feel like trash. Pretty sure you don't want to raise your test dosage for health reasons so that isn't an option right? I know HCG I know you affects everyone different and some don't like it but I really love it. I do 1250 weekly with TRT. Typellx has a great article and I believe he covers in one of his podcasts DHEA being used to raise E2. Oral raises it acutely but it doesn't last as long. Maybe transdermal would be an option? Have you recently tested your your DHEA level?

You could test your DHEA sulfate levels and see where you're at. If you re inside the range you could start supplementing with 25-50mg and definitely it will boost your e2. For me, long term it's way easier to sustain it than pinning every other day HCG, plus it's way cheaper.

Oral DHEA can easily be dosed twice daily (or more) to achieve more steady levels of E2. Oral administration of compounds like this allows more freedom in dosing protocols.

With a meal to facilitate slower release.
